Description/Reviews:
Their new album, The Big Distraction, tiptoes a fine line between artfully alternative and hauntingly heavy. That’s not easy to do, but they succeed with flying colors.Media/Samples
Vocals careen to towering heights on lines like “Medicine heal my soul” from the album standout “King Fisher,” while “Slow Down Stay Alive” finds beauty in paranoia as guitars echo and tones resound, twisting a tourniquet of emotion. While certainly channeling Deftones, Coheed and Cambria, and A Perfect Circle, the band still forges its own path rather adopting the mindset of those heavy innovators, while then carving out their own pocket. The title track begins with a David Gilmour-worthy clean riff that drops into a delicate drop bounce, and everything devolves into one last headtrip augmented by hypnotic vocals and sparse soundscapes.
