Per Nilsson (Meshuggah) – Guitar (14)

Description/Reviews
Kilter are, without doubt, a power trio. One of the most powerful trios I’ve come across, and almost immediately reminiscent of another powerful trio, Zu. ... Zorn and Zappa crossed and mutilated into a frenzied attack of avant-garde jazz-metal fusion. It’s a gloriously dissonant mix of free jazz, RIO, noise rock and metal.

Total Time 72:05

Line-up
Jean Fossat - Guitar, Synthesizer, Vocals
Rémi Fossat - Bass, Vocals
Canek Flores - Drums, Percussion, Organ

Description/Reviews
Ummon is not a record for the faint of heart. It’s 72 minutes of garage-kraut-doom (or maybe doom-garage-kraut) with barely any breathing room. Huge, abrasive walls of guitar dominate this record, while chaotic bursts of noise pummel the listener. The band members themselves give fair warning on how key repetition is to this album’s sound on their Bandcamp page (or, as they phrase it, “r r e e p p e e t t i i t t i i o o n n”). With all this in mind, if you’re willing to give it a shot, this album is highly rewarding.

Panagiotis Andreou – Fretless Bass
Sean Wright – Drums
    With:
Basiani Ensemble – Vocals (4, 12, 13)
Nana Valishvili – Vocals (6)

Description/Reviews
According to the the PR that came with the album, Georgian Microjamz is, as the title suggests, a hybrid of traditional Georgian folk music and progressive microtonal jazz. But the hybrid is quite clearly skewed toward Mikadze’s original compositions, with any traditional folk pieces serving only as inspiration, and only three tracks on the album being arrangements of traditional Georgian folk songs.

Stunning new sideproject from members of Jordsjø. Elds Mark is an instrumental affair that tries for and succesfully captures the feel of Scandinavian progressive rock of the 70s.  As I listen through the album I'm constantly reminded of the first Ragnarok album. (lasercd.com)

Description/Reviews
...My Arrival offers music that is keyboard-led, more than anything else.  It is gentle, reserved, and laser-focused on melody.  It lathers, bubbles, and foams with luxurious, pulsating beauty.
Don’t get me wrong here: the album has plenty of wonderful instrumentals and guitar work, including some great solos.  It has moments of oomph and energy.  However, the album almost doesn’t qualify as “rock”, per se.  It has more pop elements found in the rich, catchy choruses and the milder style.  You will also hear plenty of electronic elements, making for an album fomenting with atmosphere and space.  In the end, exploring this style feels even more ambitious than just creating another progressive rock album.

The Spacelords "Spaceflowers"

Country: Germany
Genre(s)Instrumental Psychedelic, Space Rock
LabelTonzonen Records
FormatCD, digital, vinyl
Release date: February 21, 2020
Tracklist
1. Cosmic Trip
2. Frau Kuhnkes Kosmos
3. Spaceflowers

Line-up
Marcus Schnitzler: Drums
Matthias “Hazi” Wettstein: Guitars
Erhard “Akee” Kazmaier:  Bass

Description/Reviews
Whether they’re in the studio or not, the trio emit a cosmic vibe of marked depth, and in the three extended pieces of Spaceflowers, they bloom in true fashion, each one seeming to spread out in all directions at once, circular petals opening wide to catch the light of some strange sunlight and thereby be sustained. To say the least, 24-minute opener and longest track (immediate points) “Cosmic Trip” is nothing if not aptly named.
