   With
Mick Moss (Antimatter) - vocals
Bela Komoszyńska (Sorry Boys) - vocals
Artur Szolc (Annalist, Inside Again) - drums

Description/Reviews:
The album consists of both instrumental pieces and songs. It contains a lot of spacey atmosphere, and fans of post-rock, ambient and electronic music will surely be able to find something for themselves. It is diverse and at the same time coherent, filled with emotions, melancholy and darkness. It tries to find answers to the question of what happens to us when we do not understand each other and we wander between what was said and what was left unspoken.

Steve Hanley - Drums, Shaker, Percussion
Martin Longhawn - Organ, Wurlitizer, Piano

Description/Reviews:
In many ways their latest release 20/21 is even more accomplished and enjoyable. It certainly develops the band's sound by adding some Avant touches here and there. Inventive compositions, such as the intriguing The Message Will Differ and the excellent We Elastic offer a different approach to the band's previous album. In these tunes, discordance, effects and a quest to create an abstract canvas of sounds are prominently displayed. These furnish the album with an interesting, but somewhat less accessible set of musical colours.

Email subscription 2

My yesterday's post about Google stopping email notifications seems to turn out to be the last post they delivered in email. )) We'll see tomorrow if this suggestion is correct. At least two other posts with album information haven't got to today's email.

So I have moved email subscription to another service - follow.it The new subscription form is on the blog. All those who were subscribed and had confirmed email addresses are included in the new list. So if you stop receiving emails, try to subscribe via the new form. If that doesn't help, let me know.

follow.it say they have some additional features you can now use (which didn’t exist on Feedburner), e.g. on https://follow.it/newprogreleases?action=followPub&filter you can now define filters and more delivery channels, e.g. to receive your news via Telegram, news page etc.

Update. Feedburner is still running. I haven't turned it off just in case. So for a short while you receive two emails a day about the same stuff.

Description/Reviews:
In his new album, "The Hungry Heart", Philipp thoughtfully refines smalltape’s atmospheric sound, weaving together Artrock and Jazz to produce a tone that’s complex, yet accessible and energizing. The progressive rock album pushes the boundaries of smalltape’s signature sound and confronts critical topics of our times: mental health, racism, gender roles, and climate change. In nine compact songs and one 21-min long track, Philipp takes us on an exploration through the narrative of his generation and examines what it means to cope with the fear and desires that surface with change. "The Hungry Heart" is a beautiful evolution of smalltape’s previous musical approach and embraces a modern sound with influences from jazz, electronic, and minimal music. (beyondrock)

Robert Hutchinson - drums, percussion, bells, spoken words
Bryan Collin - guitars
Chris Dabbo - piano, keyboards, vocals
   With
Richard Silva - keyboards (2)
Kendra Emery - alto & tenor sax (1)

Description/Reviews:
Most of the 7 compositions on their debut If Only... are built around the dynamic, alternating and powerful rhythm section (Robert on drums and Jeff on bass), embellished with inventive work on keyboards and guitars. One moment the music reminds of King Crimson, as in the varied The Mask Of Deception (fiery and sensitive guitar runs), and in The Missing Floor (bombastic eruptions with fat synthesizer flights and heavy guitar riffs). At other moments Frank Zappa comes to my mind, like in the hypnotizing Programophone (growling bass, and howling and biting guitar runs).

Description/Reviews:
...a hell of a trip it is, too, roaming freely across modern electronica and the oldest, earthiest folk, the most dronesome of motorik and the molten mantle of acid rock.
The band is the feverish brainchild of David J. Smith, otherwise of Guapo and Miasma & the Carousel of Headless Horses, and thus a name well appreciated by voyagers out into more esoteric sonic landscapes.

Tracklist
  1. Mai Tornare

Andy Tillison (The Tangent/Po90): Keyboards, Drums

Roberto Tiranti (New Trolls/Ken Hensley/Labyrinth): Vocals
   with
Antonio De Sarno (Moongarden, Barock Project, Mangala Vallis): Lyrics
Ray Aichinger: Soprano & Tenor Saxophones

Description/Reviews:
The album "Allium: Una Storia" is a concept album which takes as its subject a real band "Allium" that Tillison saw play and jammed with in Italy when he was a teenager in the mid 1970s.
The new band -TRT-'s album is an imagining of the record Allium might have made. Written in the style of the music that they played, the band were joined by Italian lyricist Antonio De Sarno (Moongarden, Barock Project, Mangala Vallis) who, in keeping with Tillison’s original music, wrote the kind of lyrics that might have been penned by Allium at that time.
The album, whilst paying homage to this and many other forgotten Rock Progressivo Italiano bands, is all original material written in 2021.
The album features full-on European style progressive rock music and of particular note are the incomparable Italian language vocals of Roberto Tiranti which bring a new dimension to the established work of Tillison & Reingold

Description/Reviews:
The band may distance themselves from myths they tend to shape on their albums by letting “It’s Only Make Believin'” begin this one with a perfect instance of cosmic hard rock and marry multifaceted ivories assault, a mélange of Moog and Hammond, to Simone Rubinato’s mighty bass rumble before Riccardo Ruggeri’s vocals creep into the aural picture to set the scene for a haunting, if half-hysterical, drama which will kick in when chorale harmonies of a piano-propelled “Nirvana” are unraveled to a great polyphonic effect. Yet while instrumental funfair “Carousel” offers an orchestral swirl, frisky and solemn in equal measure, “Into The Kama” is a tremulous serenade that must melt the hardest of hearts – and win it once the piece’s Eastern-flavored coda has elevated the spirit of love to the heavenly realm, only for the heavy groove of “Bitches” to break the spell and drench the cut’s riff in strings.

Description/Reviews:
...Shumaun definitely has been expanding their musical influences, resulting in more catchiness, subtle hints of oriental music and for sure an album that probably should gain new followers, also outside the progressive scene. Take the wonderful opener; A Subtle Invocation, a heavy progressive composition, filled with thorough drumming of former Fates Warning drummer Mark Zonder, which perfectly combines with the dedicated riffs and the immaculate voice of Farhad. The following Prisoners is smoother; the acoustic guitars, accessible but typical Farhad vocal lines should be able to widen their audience as I wrote about above.

Description/Reviews:
Surrender of Silence is a further exploration of Hackett’s love of world music, discovering different sounds, moods and textures to deliver a rock album of extraordinary variety, power and beauty. Our journey takes us from the classical orchestrations of Russia (Natalia) to the plains of Africa (Wingbeats) to mysterious Eastern shores (Shanghai To Samarkand), all via the ocean's depths (Relaxation Music for Sharks (featuring feeding frenzy)). The Devil's Cathedral pools the talents of Hackett's entire touring band and features King's atmospheric Gothic organ and a powerhouse rhythm display from Blundell and Reingold. Hackett's vocals have never been bettered and his duet with Amanda Lehmann adds emotion to Scorched Earth a lament for the environmental horrors facing our planet. Throughout Hackett's guitars add a rich tapestry of colour with soaring solos and intricate weaving melodies.
