Description/Reviews:
Now the artist works as a collaborative effort with the aforementioned to showcase the weavings of folk, neo-baroque, neo-classical, progressive rock and more with her new album Forget~Me~Nots.
With all of the musical influences coming together, it’s easily distinguishable that this album is a journey of experimentation and being able to piece the variables together to create something unique. From the off with opening track Forest, DIKAJEE‘s voice is an elegant display of something ethereal, it’s got a delicacy about it that sits subtly under the surrounding instrumentation.

Description/Reviews:
One thing I especially love about this album is how much clarinets dominate proceedings. ... Clarinet and bass clarinet are almost constant in the mix, and conspicuous in their absence – so that when either returns it never fails to make me smile...  I have no idea how I would describe the music. The band say it’s a mix of the “neoclassical, avant-garde, ambient, progressive, post-jazz, chamber music, modern creative and other genres”

Maximilian Maxotsky — drums
Jamie Ward — mellotron, additional synths

Description/Reviews
The musical style is a bit hard to nail down accurately.  The album has this modern progressive rock feel to it, though prog rock is far from the primary genre here, if present much at all.  While prog rock is obviously an influence to some degree, the album is primarily driven by keys and especially by violin, giving it an overall neoclassical atmosphere.  The voluptuous drumming and somewhat shoegazey guitars also provide the album with a post-rock vibe, especially through the band’s climactic style of song writing.  On top of that, there is a hefty helping of electronic music here.  It’s like this great big mix of genres that feels both classical and modern at the same time, impressing even further because of the emotions that all of this produces.

Description/Reviews
Acrylic Road started out as a practice template, in every conceivable way, for The Arborist's Carson Schnackenburg. Schnackenburg is a drummer, by trade, and tracks like album opener "The Fifth Acre" were created solely for Schnackenburg to play drums along to. You'd never know it, from the wispy, neo-classical, prog-and-metal infused art rock. It's sensitive, delicate, intuitive and personal - not what you would expect from a bash-along backing track.

Description/Reviews
The sixth album by Corde Oblique was conceived as a wooden palette used for mixing colors with sounds, the sounds of the colors are evoked by using lot of different musical instruments and musical styles. Almost all existing music tonalities have been used for the songs; moreover, every title refers to a different color and the graphic design is inspired to one of the most famous italian art history encyclopedias printed in the '60s.
The album includes 13 unreleased songs written and produced by the mastermind Riccardo Prencipe. Over 50 minutes of refined Progressive-Ethereal-Folk music.

Description/Reviews
'Labyrinth' is TSO's first album of individual, unconnected songs, the 14-track set is knit together by the serious underpinning of the songs, whether it's the sweeping overview of humanity on 'Time & Distance', the concerns of world banking irregularities on 'Not Dead Yet', the anti-bullying message of 'Not The Same' (which O'Neill co-wrote with his daughter) or the learn-from-the-past studies of 'Prince Igor and 'King Rurik'. In some ways it's a straight ahead album, and in some ways it's not. It's blatantly out of the box more music-driven as opposed to story- and music-driven. The world is a mess right now, so 'Letters From the Labyrinth' examines some of the problems we're facing now. You can enjoy them as songs, but they're there to make you think.

Description/Reviews
Sorni Nai is a single song, 52 minutes in length, and progresses from some really beautiful ambient and folk music to much harsher doom metal, paired with some of Kauan’s always powerful heavy vocals. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves; it’s one song, so we can talk about it from beginning to end.
As I said, the beginning of the song is very beautiful. Kauan knows exactly how to play this kind of music. Some light synths floating in the background, acoustic guitar, piano, even some strings, and all of it backed by their vocalist, Anton Belov, who in my opinion has one of the most beautiful voices ever. His Russian accent is strong, but he is singing in Finnish, with all the lilts and trills of one of the most beautiful languages there is. It’s haunting and poignant, and it has always been part of Kauan’s signature sound. They also include female vocals at times, but these are light touches of sound rather than lyrically focused.

Description/Reviews
Rhythm Of Mars is a Progressive Rock, New Age & Neo-Classical band hailing from Fayetteville (Arkansas, USA). Its third album - “Window of Destiny” - surprised me with some wonderful and melodic Progressive Music that is rare today, being very reminiscent of early days of Prog, when musicians searched for enchanting melodies and magical harmonies that could be combined in nice-sounding arrangements that would reach the listener’s soul and feelings. As I prepared this text, I spent pleasant moments at Rhythm Of Mars’ website, not willing to leave, listening to their wonderful music – and I advice everybody to do the same. For my (second) surprise, the photo that the band posted on their site showed a poster of “Opeth” hanging on the wall behind them! Well, if something can be said about Rhythm of Mars, is that their music is totally “anti-Opeth”: it is light, delicate, sensitive, diaphanous, moving, elevating, inspiring, and relaxing, without being soporiferous or pretentiously pompous. The guitar is the main solo instrument, being generally supported by a classical layer of keyboards (pianos and New Age-sounding synths, more discretely and elegantly played than bombastically), and some acoustic guitar passages and soft drumming. The bass is also soft, played by different bassists, always melodically. Two pieces are basically guitar-driven: the opening track “Houdini” (3:45) – which is also the album’s heaviest - comes with the strength of a mild Neo-Classical Rock blended with Space-Rock chords, all supported by joyful pianos that have the mood of the 50’s Rock; yet, the title track “Window of Destiny” (5:01) is a placid ballad on which Straub shows his emotional side when playing the instrument, alternating modern guitar-playing styles (like “Satriani”, “Bonamassa”) with old-school weeping-guitar style (“Moore”, “Beck”) – achieving magnificent results. A couple of tracks are more keyboard-oriented, having emphasis on Unruh’s pianos. Such are “Pleiadian” (3:59), that blends soft Symphonic-Prog classical piano and delicate New-Age flutes in Pastoral soundscapes immersed in Medieval choirs; and “La Noche” (3:37), a Chopin-inspired Nocturne accompanied by the organ. A number of pieces lean to the New-Age with World Music influence, and have arrangements that bring to mind names like “Yanni”, “Vollenweider”, “Paco de Lucia”, “Santana”, “Mike Oldfield”, and “Gordon Giltrap”. The eerie “Love Spell” (4:30) follows the Hindu trend, having psychedelic sounds, great progressive soaring bass, and soulful guitar solo; “Labyrinth” (3:46) is a musical maze that leaps from India to fall down into the joyful North-American Country & Folk, bringing frantic and lively acoustic guitars, violins, and Straub going wild on his final guitar solo; finally “Masquerade” (4:56) is mysterious and seductive, driven by Latin moods that unroll underneath a mattress of Spanish acoustic guitars (as a mix of “Paco de Lucia”, “Santana”, and “Gordon Giltrap”). The last track is “Evolve” (2:40) – which is beautiful and relaxing, being driven by the free-flowing dialogue between acoustic guitars and a soaring electric guitar. Rhythm Of Mars is really an amazing band to be discovered, for it teaches us a lesson about the universal and spiritual quality of Music: it does not need to be complex to be enjoyed, just beautiful and heart-touching. Rhythm Of Mars is highly recommendable for lovers of soft Progressive Rock blended with New-Age & World Music. (Marcelo Trotta at progressiverockbr.com)

Description/Reviews
With Field Of Reeds, These New Puritans present 'post-rock' in its purest and most vital form. Their third album is one of staggering ambition even in the context of its predecessor, 2010's sleeper hit Hidden. It sits closer to the baroque majesty of Her Name Is Calla, or even the more fragile moments of Kayo Dot's back catalogue, than the discordant, preening art-rock of their earliest material. But more accurately it stands alone. Yes, there will be many comparisons drawn to the aforementioned Talk Talk, but bar the occasional moment (such as the way the brass of opener 'The Way I Do' eerily echoes their shadowy forefathers' epic 'Taphead') the main thing that ties the two bands together is silence, and their expert use of it.

Description/Reviews
Some may remember Krampl as one of the founding members of the 70s' progressive rock groups Kyrie Eleison and Indigo. The 1976 Kyrie Eleison album "The Fountain Beyond The Sunrise" was an superb Genesis styled album propelled by the impressive synthesizer arpeggios and majestic keyboard work of Gerald Krampl. But since 2006 his music has taken on a decidedly different tone, gradually moving away from keyboard driven prog to new age minimalism, as with his subsequent solo projects. With "Wonder Way" Krampl has made the transition complete, flipping the switch from the energetic multi-keyboardist of Kyrie Eleison to a mature introspective new age pianist.

Description/Reviews
Russian based outfit iamthemorning describe themselves as ... a neo-classical vocal indie band... that ...combine non-typical but easily perceived vocal parts of progressive rock with a distinctly classical musical approach. All band members have a higher education in classical music and are still studying this craft as of 2012.
The songs are well written, and it has a great mellow quality that is lacking in a lot of new music these days. I love the very effective use of piano as the main instrument: very little (if any) synthesizer to be found. The female vocals are very well done, and not distracting at all from the music. My favorite track is probably the more upbeat "burn", but all of the "intermissions" are right behind.Overall a great listen. -  Apollo2112 (progarchives.com)
