Description/Reviews:
The band... have created their own uniqueness of style with a variation of Space Rock the backbone of which is a series of powerful and complex bass riffs. Such fretboard movability creating a turbocharged droning however, whilst the music expels the sensations of space travel in terms of speed and direction it also acts as a solid platform allowing the other instruments to climb on board with their own exquisite contributions. Deft piano and spooky organ incursions with jagged guitar adding multitudes of melodic adornments and sound effects all so shrewdly assimilated into the final mix

Phil Spalding (GTR) - bass

Description/Reviews:
What is different to his previous ‘Homebrew’ releases is that, this time, all of these pieces have not been written for any of his other projects, like Asia or Yes. The album is a mix of styles and sounds, taking several directions, along with several vocal tracks. Now, while Steve doesn’t claim to be a singer, he is more than okay on these tracks and his guitar skills continue to shine.

Description/Reviews:
This idea that progressive metal can wash over you is encapsulated perfectly through the title and sound of track Journey. That is the idea of this style; that each song takes you on a journey. This track is a beautiful break within the middle that allows the listener to sit with the ferocity and dexterity they just heard on the previous tracks, and hear it unfold in a profound and purposeful manner. The combination of guitar and keyboard really shines on this one, and the melody that is crafted through it is designed to let the mind trudge through.

Nuclear Bird was inspired by the 70’s band, Atomic Rooster which was led by extraordinary keyboardist Vincent Crane who is also known for his signature organ work on The Crazy World of Arthur Brown’s “FIRE.” Tyrannical Megalomaniac was Vincent Crane’s nickname. Drummer/songwriter, Mark Murdock was influenced by Atomic Rooster and other early 70’s progressive-psychedelic bands from England, recently composed a batch of original songs with the intent of capturing Atomic Rooster’s spirit musically, but also telling an interpretation of the band’s story. Mark invited Atomic Rooster drummer, Ric Parnell to the recordings. Ric shared some of those interesting stories of the band which were incorporated into the lyrics.

Description/Reviews:
It is a tasteful variation of classic era progressive metal we are treated to here, with calmer atmospheric sections with and without electronic elements present alternating with firm but gentle passages as well as the more dramatic, majestic guitar and keyboard driven arrangements this style is so well know for. Orchestral details is a part of the totality here too, possibly adding some interest for this album by symphonic metal fans alongside the powerful vocals of Cristina Valenti. A production that warrants a check by fans of classic era progressive metal, and especially those among them that don't mind some nods in the direction of symphonic metal too. Description/Reviews:
In his new album, "The Hungry Heart", Philipp thoughtfully refines smalltape’s atmospheric sound, weaving together Artrock and Jazz to produce a tone that’s complex, yet accessible and energizing. The progressive rock album pushes the boundaries of smalltape’s signature sound and confronts critical topics of our times: mental health, racism, gender roles, and climate change. In nine compact songs and one 21-min long track, Philipp takes us on an exploration through the narrative of his generation and examines what it means to cope with the fear and desires that surface with change. "The Hungry Heart" is a beautiful evolution of smalltape’s previous musical approach and embraces a modern sound with influences from jazz, electronic, and minimal music. (beyondrock)

Description/Reviews:
The album consists of both instrumental pieces and songs. It contains a lot of spacey atmosphere, and fans of post-rock, ambient and electronic music will surely be able to find something for themselves. It is diverse and at the same time coherent, filled with emotions, melancholy and darkness. It tries to find answers to the question of what happens to us when we do not understand each other and we wander between what was said and what was left unspoken.

The 12-track studio album contains 10 songs often used to open live shows, including lead single “Leave Me Las Vegas,” as well as two tunes that appear to be previously unheard from their titles.
“Catshot” is the oldest song featured on You Walked Up Shaking In Your Boots But You Stood Tall & Left A Raging Bull as Umphrey’s McGee debuted the instrumental intro live on February 19, 2009 at Variety Workplace in Atlanta. “Leave Me Las Vegas” was premiered less than a month later, while “Tango Mike” was first played in 2010 and 2011 saw the debuts of “Nipple Trix” and “There’s No Crying In Mexico.”

Description/Reviews:
Stylistically the band could be taken as a prime example of the very faithful contemporary representation of the classic Italian prog. ... this 50-minute album is roughly half instrumental. The opening track 'Alice Spring' ... features a lot of saxophone and organ in the vein of Van der Graaf Generator, and a powerful melodic main phrase. 'Regina' is a two-part composition, starting with a romantic, piano-centred, slightly Wakemanesque instrumental part. The sung part is very nice too as it features xylophone, flute and PFM-like synths.

James Sedge - drums, percussion
   With
Louise Dowd - vocals (4)

Description/Reviews:
“Beetles in My Brain” has those grand, morose passages, chiming guitar lines, rumbling held bass notes, and some sizzling lead guitar. There is plenty of Latin-style percussion, quirky synth lines, and dark, eerie mellotron.
“Can’t Control You” opens with gentle flute-mellotron, which leads to a symphonic passage. The band describes itself as “cinematic” and “soundtrack” inspired, and I think that’s accurate throughout.

Description/Reviews:
Most of the 7 compositions on their debut If Only... are built around the dynamic, alternating and powerful rhythm section (Robert on drums and Jeff on bass), embellished with inventive work on keyboards and guitars. One moment the music reminds of King Crimson, as in the varied The Mask Of Deception (fiery and sensitive guitar runs), and in The Missing Floor (bombastic eruptions with fat synthesizer flights and heavy guitar riffs). At other moments Frank Zappa comes to my mind, like in the hypnotizing Programophone (growling bass, and howling and biting guitar runs).
