Karolina Karner - Backing Vocals

Description/Reviews:
As evidenced on all three previous albums, the brothers clearly share a passion for challenging-yet-melodic song writing with a firm basis in the 1970s. There is a definite Deep Purple, retro vibe to their sound, with the keyboard sounds adding the "prog" influence from bands such as Genesis and Yes. For the way that it moves between different styles, studio album number three is probably their most progressive album to date; the sign of a band looking to stamp its own identity on its music.

Description/Reviews:
“Explorer” is a melodic progressive thematic artrock album, by new Swedish group SONIC DESOLUTION. Reflecting on the different phases and insights of life, in eight chapters, there's a bit of classic prog, symph, pomp... even pop. Three main vocalists cover the wide range of dynamics of each song. There are the hoarse soulful vocals of Jan Johansen, one of the most well known solo artists in Sweden since decades, in balance with the female vocals of Annica Svensson for the more subtle parts, and occasional heavy rock vocals by Mads Clausen (ex-BISCAYA, TIMECODE ALPHA) for the most intense parts. The complex, yet melodic, music is performed by great renowned players (Harry Stouraitis at Album reviewz)

Description/Reviews:
Describing Mission Jupiter’s music is proving to be a difficult time.  They certainly lean progressive and alternative in their overall sound, bringing elements of rock, pop, electronica, and jazz into play when they are appropriate.  They insist on “musical liberalism” and cite science fiction as a huge influence over what they do, and that is definitely something that comes through in their music.  However, their music is much more than the sum of its parts.  The band has a vivid energy, almost cinematic or even arena in scale, that laces everything they do with vibrancy, power, and an entrancing aura.

Description/Reviews:
The 13 track album is accompanied by a 4 part "radio drama" mini-series inspired by the "golden age of radio" and radio plays like those by Orson Welles and others. The release of the album is also supported by a music video for "Redshift" and several 360-degree listening videos that put you in the driver's seat of the patrol ship as you listen through the album's leading singles "Redshift" and "Vacuum Sky".
The sci-fi concept of both the album and radio play follows a space patrolman named "Miro" who is exiled from a galactic armada due to a forbidden romance with his patrol ship's AI guidance system. He goes on a series of adventures through the universe as he flees the terrible "Galactik Kommandoh" and seeks a way to hide from the all-seeing eye of the "Matrioshka Brain", a supercomputer the size of a planet that monitors the universe for the armada.

Description/Reviews:
Perhaps because it was recorded live, the album feels jammier than anything they’ve done before, and more raucous as well; on the nine-minute “Buist,” Millevoi rockets so far into the stratosphere you might start to think you’re listening to an Earthless album. “Powers,” a slow, stomping track that’s the shortest piece on the record, shifts back and forth between metal crunch and jazz-rock fluidity, a strategy fans of the Hedvig Mollestad Trio will recognize.

Description/Reviews:
Ciccada’s sound is a unique blend of rock, jazz, folk and Western European traditional music. It is based on strong melodic lines, drawing on influences from the progressive greats of the 1970s, such as Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Camel, Gryphon, Strawbs, Renaissance, Hatfield & The North, Spirogyra and Curved Air.
'Harvest', the band’s first full-length release since 2016’s The Finest Of Miracles, sees Ciccada on fine form, with six new pieces featuring their trademark blend of acoustic and electric instrumentation, woodwind and reeds, all fronted by the twin vocal attack of Dimi Spela and Evangelia Kozoni.

Reine Fiske (Katatonia)

Description/Reviews:
Kicking off with a familiar riff The Waning Parts 1 & 2 impresses on the listener their talent and ability to still create songs with a great diversity and atmosphere while also hitting you hard where it matters most, your head and your heart. Title track Kingdom Of Oblivion maintains this spontaneity with an interesting and powerful wall of sound. The balance and influence of electric and acoustic stringed instruments on the whole album were used a lot during the golden years of 1969 to 1973. The band take this on board adding light and shade to what’s on display, Lady May 1 being a great example with its folk influenced vocal and acoustic style.

Description/Reviews:
Those who like their progressive metal to be dark, horror-tinged and performed with intensity should feel right at home with this production. Accessible progressive metal with theatrical elements and horror elements central to the lyrics as well as the music, explored in songs that range from more straightforward and arguably symphonic metal in orientation to progressive metal in nature, this is an album that should interest quite a few people. Those with an affection for theatrical productions with voice acting instead of regular vocals in particular.
