Description/Reviews:
The tracks seem to blur into one another as the album progresses and soon enough a swell of shimmering guitar begins to flow from the speakers, surfing over an oddly complicated rhythm. You have to listen hard as there are extra beats subtly injected into the slowly surging rhythm; the bass is succulent and has a really sweet tone that joins perfectly with the guitar array. Together they work to produce this swollen, wind-borne sound, a restlessness that sees the song ebb and flow, rarely staying in one place, constantly searching out another peak.

Description/Reviews:
As always in the world of Ulver, influences are disparate and diverse, yet as Rygg notes, “It’s quite tributary in a way, there are clear nods to sounds from the past.” Many of these dwell in progressive, electronic and krautrock realms, heralding a lifelong love within the band for the music of the 70s – the fiery mantras of ‘Om Hanumate Namah’ and the motorik drive of ‘Cromagnosis’ draw an astral trajectory between the propulsion of Kraftwerk/Neu! and the ritualistic intensity of prime Amon Düül II, whilst the spirits of both Klaus Schulze and John Carpenter are audible in the electronic soundscapes of ‘Desert/Dawn’, not to mention the Bernard Herrmann touch in the closing ‘Solaris’. Even when the band revisits an earlier gem from 2000’s Perdition City album, as on ‘Nowhere (Sweet Sixteen)’, its reinvigorated by their expansive and emotionally charged approach. (Jimmy Martin)

Description/Reviews:
Music commissioned for Tromsø Kulturhus in cooperation with the Arctic Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra. Composed and first performed by Ulver, on primarily electronic instruments, with the Tromsø Chamber Orchestra September 21 2012.
"Much of this was recorded live, yet it is not a live album. We've spent long hours in the studio translating what happened that night.
We are at peace for now. It is more quiet than normal. More modern than medieval. But there will always be rapture. Consecration and crying. The father, the mother ... and ghosts. Shadows reverberates – it feels like a companion piece – and Silence's erratic electronique. Sample culture. War and vulture. People hurt. In spite we love. Our children. We fear their future.
Remember Górecki's No. 3: Symphony of Sorrowful Songs. It has haunted us for years, and probably always will. The Gustavs Mahler and Holst. Sound collages from When or Nurse With Wound. 70's kraut and synth. Ash Ra and Autobahn. 80's pop scores. John Carpenter and Tin Drum. Terry Riley, again and again and again. Saint John of the Cross."
