Description/Reviews:
In 2023, after connecting with a group of New York musicians called The Band Geeks, Jon embarked on a summer of 2023 tour performing 2 hours of YES epics and classics. With The Band Geeks, Jon found a group of musicians that he felt could collaborate with him to create a body of work that rivaled the classic YES sound of the 70’s and 80’s. The result of this collaboration is “True”. The 9-song album harkens back to the sound of classic YES and features compositions of all lengths with the centerpiece being the 16 minute song “Once Upon a Dream”.

Kjetil Nordhus (Tristania) - operatic voices

Description/Reviews:
Not the least are heavy and intense, both modern and technical, but also dark and foreboding. An initial spin of the seven song, near 50 minute, album reveals a rather simple formula: aggressive riffs with an ambitious rhythm section wrapped in synth orchestration for even more intense density, with all a things leading to epic, technical guitar solos.

Description/Reviews:
First, the Yes influence is obvious and omnipresent across the recording. According to PR info, this was intentional...Second, this is definitely melodic progressive rock. The arrangements are largely complex and dense, offering intrigue tempered by solid song melody, groove, and vocal harmony.

Description/Reviews:
...with Songs For The Apocalypse, you can throw glam metal and/or classic rock out the window. To these ears, the larger musical context is progressive rock characterized by dense heaviness from layers of riffs, synths and synth orchestration, large, yet often muted, vocal arrangements, and sometimes lingering guitar lines (which can also seme muted, but then rise). ... Alternatively, there's something like Anthem For Losers which, while also dense and heavy, has a lively rhythm and groove, nearly sounding like fuzzed out Sixties summer music.

Total time 52:30

Line-up:
Mick Box: Guitar, Vocals
Phil Lanzon: Keyboards, Vocals
Bernie Shaw: Lead Vocals
Russell Gilbrook: Drums, Vocals
Dave Rimmer: Bass, Vocals

Description/Reviews:
Living The Dream is rather typical 21st century Uriah Heep: melodic hard rock, with some prog twists, powered by the duet and interplay of guitar and synths (read: Hammond, notably), and then dropped into an accessible AOR package. Expanding on that description some more, Heep delivers classic rock bristling with riffs, abundant melody, and potent groove. The prog nuances come with the typical tempo changes and transitions, but also segues where instrumental play becomes more expansive. Perhaps the best example is Rocks In The Road where, close to the midpoint, Uriah Heep turns loose the bass, organ, and drums for a stirring movement that builds with steady excitement.

Molly Rogers: strings
Jay Schellen (Circa:, Conspiracy, ASIA Featuring John Payne, GPS): drums

Description/Reviews:
If you think that Dukes Of The Orient sound like an Asia-type band, you're not far from the truth. Large hints of Asia are here, but also ELP, Yes, and parts Toto. Dukes Of The Orient is simply melodic neo-progressive rock in an AOR wrapper. Or said another way, the songs are very catchy, pop-like, AOR rock songs with some technicality, and a large portion of Norlander keyboard wizardry.
