Fausto Tessari - keyboards
Tommaso Galeazzo - vocals
Daniele Gallan - bass
Fabio Tomba - drums

Description/Reviews
For the first dozen minutes, this has all the ingredients of a classic neo-prog concept album. ... Then a sudden transformation. The band becomes a melodic prog-metal outfit in the vein of fellow Italians Stamina and Vision Divine. Reflections is a great song in this vein, whilst the debut single The Mercenary takes a more AOR approach, especially in the text-book build-up to the hook-laden chorus.
Another Shore is a decent neo-prog-meets-AOR ballad and acts as a showcase for Tommaso Galeazzo's vocals.
The closing duo are the most prog-ly-metallic.

Description/Reviews
Once again Wenzel and Starquake offer you a trip through a musical time tunnel, revisiting Seventies prog rock and early Eighties heavy metal, notably NWoBHM. You'll find equal parts melodic hard rock groove and the strong riffs and drums of heavy metal. Then there's Wenzel dropping in large portions of synths, Hammond, and Mellotron for embellishment.

Christian Andersson - guitar
Bjarne Karlsson - guitar
Peter Nilsson - bass
Øyvind Minsaas - drums

Description/Reviews
Orsak:Oslo is a dark slow brew containing of psych, dystopian post-rock and trippy space blues.
With their monolithic and melancholic instrumental pieces, this is music for the active listener.
O:O is a marriage between impulsive improv and thoughtful composition, later melodies and new harmonies are carefully woven in, layer by layer.
With a reverence and underlying devotion to the aura and musical preconditions laid down from the start, the result is raw, unpolished and true.

Crea "Dwarves & Penguins"

Country: Sweden
Genre(s): Progressive Rock
Format: CD
Release date: March 29, 2019
Tracklist
    1. The March Of The Penguins
    2. Some Of Us
    3. Shattered Vison
    4. Second Thoughts
    5. Millennium
    6. The March Of The Dwarves
    7. Walk Into Bright Lights

Line-up
Peter Gren - guitars, E-bow and voices
Nicke Bjerke - bass
Sonny Johansson - drums and percussion
Anders Karlsson - keyboards and voice
   With
Roland Chantra - additional voices (7)

Description/Reviews
The set begins with adventurous track ‘The Marsch Of Penguins’ full of instrumental meanderings. In some respects, this spectacular jam is reminiscent of Gamalon (to my ears, at least). After such an attention-grabbing opener, the things switch into mellow ‘Some Of Us’ to feature very characteristic neoprog atmosphere. Whilst the vocal delivery might be comparable with Martin Wilson (Grey Lady Down), the guitar passages share a kinship with elegance of Steve Rothery (Marillion). Besides, the keyboard courtesy, convincing bass and precise drums are prominent in the mix.

Description/Reviews
On this album Devin has decided to see what would happen if all the styles that make up his current interests were finally represented in one place. To finally shake the fear of expectation, and just do what it is he was meant to do creatively, EMPATH, true to the name, is about allowing the audience a feeling for a variety of musical emotions. The musical dynamics represented on this single album are broad, challenging, and immense. To approach this sort of work with a long history of what makes heavy music ‘heavy’, allows this to be done with a type of power rarely heard.

King's musical history is a diverse one, drawing from hard rock, heavy metal, progressive, and other genres, both past and present. Most of his vocal appearances, however, have been with progressive power metal bands. So it's no surprise to find King revisiting his melodic progressive power metal roots within ReProgram.

Description/Reviews
They have always reminded me a bit of bands like Mastodon, Cult of Luna and Intronaut but perhaps a bit more melodic.
“NP – Complete” finds the new lineup on the top of their game. The album has a big sound to it. It’s dense but still has plenty of atmosphere. Plus the songs really flow well which for me is the key to any album.

Description/Reviews
The band lists acts such as Audioslave, Tool, Muse, and Karnivool as touchstones for fans, and I think that’s a good list.
The music is heavy prog rock with an emphasis on stunning grooves and catchy choruses, hence the list of influential bands.  All of those bands have high energy and also high melody along with stunning instrumental portions, and that is what you find here.  The band lists alternative rock as part of their “genre”, but I hear pop-punk, emo, and new wave influences in there, as well.

Description/Reviews
The musical style is progressive rock with a focus on melody and groove, but also with a heavier side.  You will hear quite a bit of variety in tone from song to song, and part of that has to do with the multiple guest singers who are present here.  The music may foam with drive and energy one moment, and then evoke space and distance in the next.  Overall, the sound is bright, layered, and a bit mysterious, in addition to feeling emotional and purposeful.  Also, as I said, there is a distinctive Costa Rican sound at play here that winds its way through every note.

Description/Reviews
…..it’s not obscenely heavy, believe it or not.  It’s actually a big nod to progressive music even classic prog rock from the 70’s and years gone by.  There’s even some brass and piano on some of his songs! No, you’re not getting an instrumental death metal offering it’s actually extremely versed.  Again I’ll hammer home the point he’s more diverse than most people think he is.  It’s a truly unique display of music that is his own, and has a broad sound that is far from sounding like he’s imitating anyone.  There’s even some slight moments of jazz here and there, as well.
