Description/Reviews
Known for its trademark dark guitar tones and epic brooding soundscapes, Le Grand Voyage is a dynamic and intense album that explores nine unique landscapes, and switches between dark, luminous, heavy and powerful sounds.

The album is inspired by duality: earthly and spiritual journeys, life and death, resilience and relenting, love and animosity – human nature and all its paradoxes. The ethereal atmospheres combine with riffs that recall 2012 album The Dreamer's Hideaway, and creates a natural evolution from 2015's Here Comes the Sun, evident in songs such as Sealed, Silver Gate and Hidden Passenger.

Description/Reviews
“Fragments of the 5th Element”  finds MAGIC PIE steering clear of the sterile perfection so often found amongst modern Prog bands  in order to create an album with a slightly more unpolished sound, and  a “rough around the edges” feel  that gives it an added bite.  From the genre-defying opener, to the  epic 23 minute closer, MAGIC PIE clearly demonstrate just why they have become a household name amongst Prog Rock fans, and why this album has been worth the long wait.

Description/Reviews
The band’s fourth album ‘Night Echoes' is the most collaborative work to date offering the eclectic flavours of what fans have come to expect in the past as well as a new palette and range of emotional expression never before heard from the group. Hemina return with a more concise 45 minute concept album exploring adolescence, nostalgia, grief, and loss in the 21st century with a thematic arc to accompany and elaborate on their previous conceptual output.
‘Night Echoes’ is Hemina at their most emotional and melodic without ignoring the aggressive and venomous side that keeps the music in balance.

Description/Reviews
The Bell - iamthemorning’s 2019 studio album - delivers a contemporary fusion of Rock, Classical and Folk influences.
Inspired by 19th Century song cycles - a style established by Schubert - the album cohesively tells 10 individual stories of pain caused by human cruelty. The lyrical imagery draws on themes from Victorian England's art and culture, with its prevalent fixation with death.

The trio... draws upon backgrounds in post-rock, electronic, jazz and contemporary chamber music – foundations on which they build with an ever-increasing sense of freedom and adventure. Embracing the collision of frenetic percussion, clanging guitars and vaporous synths, they absorb faded relics of retro-futurism and bygone musical eras into their own new and twistingly melodic musical language.

Description/Reviews
Fine Soft Day were regular performers across the folk rock scene. In the summer of 2018, however, the band reformed with the intention of trying out some new material and to record some of the older songs which had never been committed to the studio.
The new album incorporates strong influences of progressive rock, containing elements of early Genesis, Yes and Pink Floyd to name a few. The band’s original folk roots were now replaced by soaring guitars, sweeping keyboards, strident bass lines and rich, complex vocal arrangements.
You Are Here is a concept album, unashamedly. Built around a themes of hope and humanity stretching across two points in history but connected by a single point on the earth – the weaving together of time and space. The album features lyrical and musical motifs that recur throughout the material, in different guises, leading to the culmination of the 14 minute epic finale, Roll Up The World (Part 2). But alongside the progressive influences, there are elements of country rock, lending a flavour of R.E.M and Neil Young amongst others.

Line-up
Erik Hammarström (Brighteye Brison, Änglagård, All Traps on Earth) - Drums, Cymbals and Percussion, Electric Bass, Samples

Description/Reviews
... an extremely intricate and dynamic rhythmic texture, the result of years of study, evolution and practice of the musical instrument, combined with chamber music scores that make Erik's work seem much easier than it actually is. Jazz-rock, avant-garde and classical music merge here in a sonic brew that, for attitude and originality, recalls the most courageous experiments released by the ECM label. A modern symphony, constantly vibrant and tense, which could perfectly fit also as a soundtrack for a film with a 'Hitchcockian' flavor.
The album consists of two long suites, both divided into different movements: a 34-minute title-track, and the shortest 15-minute "Iskallt Mörkt Vatten", in which Erik plays all the percussion and electric bass, accompanied by bows, brass, clarinet, flute, celesta, harp and bassoon. An incredible and uneasy experience even for the most daring 'prog connoisseurs', destined to leave a mark!

Description/Reviews
Complexity is a brain inside of the heart of this genre, whether one calls it fusion, prog, math, or jazz, as it certainly defies any conventional heading; it is exciting and challenging music that doesn’t lose itself to the complexity. The instruments seem to tumble about and always fall on their feet. This allows the winds and keys to bloat, swell, and flex at any given moment. The album has a constant rhythm and current of arpeggios that allow whatever instrument rises to the fore to shine.

Scott Owens – Guitars, Backing Vocals
Andy Milner – Drums
Pete Priestley – Bass, Bass Pedals

Description/Reviews
This Winter Machine are developing into fine exponents of a pleasing brand of great rock songs with an eye for memorable melodies and hooks. They wear their influences proudly on their musical sleeves, but they do not slavishly copy other bands and are not afraid to meld together unusual mixtures of styles, such as Symmetry And Light. This Winter Machine do not do ‘avant garde’ or experimental music (which is fine for other bands!), they focus on writing and performing high quality crafting catchy melodic rock songs (which is no mean feat). Whilst they are not breaking new musical frontiers (a rare occurrence for any artists in reality) they are very skilled in expressing their musical and lyrical ideas with flair and imagination.

2. Lazarus (Space Masala)
3. Rain
4. Ava
5. Who Will Remember (When You Forget)
6. Let Go
7. Violet
8. Circuit Heaven
9. With Me

Line-up
Anadale - Guitar, Vocals
Joe Reilly - Keyboards
Anthony Rondinone - Bass, Vocals
Louis Abramson - Drums

Description/Reviews
If you are not familiar with Jolly, they play a style of music that is difficult to pigeonhole.  They obviously have trappings from alternative rock, such as the heavily distorted guitars, but you can also hear hefty pop sensibilities, such as the well-crafted choruses and bright melodies.  You can also hear influences from various other genres, such film scores, R&B, and progressive metal.  So, while you will hear lush keyboard melodies mixed with technical drums, the band never takes themselves too seriously.  They kinda do their own thing, and they are all the better for it.  Jolly simply has their own sound.  In fact, they seem like one of those bands that just doesn’t have much influence from prog at all, and they don’t really seem to like that label.  Of course, that is what all the cool prog guys are doing nowadays.
