Label: LL Records
Format: digital
Release date: December 20, 2021
Tracklist:
1. Dental Breakdown
2. Lady Dung
3. Rage For Boredom
4. Frill
5. Jaundice Sailor
6. In Search Of Competance

Line-up:
Composed, arranged and performed by Geir Venom Larzen, Erik Andås, Øyvind Eriksen, Mette Jensen, Heidi Larzen, Bente Marit Ekker, Espen Warankov Godø, Yngve Hasnes

Description/Reviews:
"One of the first things to notice with this band's music is that it is quite eclectic and contains many sections that, while not totally discordant, can sound a little unusual. This is often due to some sections being played in a minor key when you least expect it. The underlying strength however, lies with the Mellotron, which features throughout many of their albums. This adds a deeply-seated and atmospheric basis from which the songs can grow and develop."

   Except:
Andreas Krebs - guitar solos (2)
Konst Fischer - guitar solo (3)
Marcel Thenée - guitar solos (6)
Jakub “JD” Dwornicki - guitar solo (7)

Description/Reviews:
Musically, this album fires on all cylinders. The progressive rock segments are heavy, fast-paced, and awesome. You will hear Randy’s delicious bass grooves all over the place as he lays down hefty, humongous, and hungry bass lines that eat up the spotlight more often than not. ... The album has a quieter side, though. It often muses in electronic and orchestral ideas, and it jumps back and forth between film score and prog rock quite often, many times within the same song. The music here is certainly an ambitious and voluptuous undertaking.

Carina Kohn – Lead Vocals, Piano (1)
    With:
Adam Bentley – Guitar Solo (3)
Kenny Chipkin – Guitar (5)

Description/Reviews:
Even though they are not a math band, there is a huge amount of math rock to the way they play their prog metal. The intricacy of their playing, and more so, the way it interlocks, is simply entrancing. So, while I guess the band will still be bogged down with the prog metal tag, there is so much more to their sound. The band have given “fusion” as one of their Bandcamp tags, and it is entirely appropriate, for Involute’s sound is a fusion of prog metal, math rock, and jazz. At times, some of the more ambient passages even give a post-rock feel to the music. And, indeed, even if the band could never really be described as post-rock, they do seem to have composed their music in a post-rock manner – concerned more for shape over form, and texture over structure. Sure there are all the components of prog metal you might expect to hear, but they have been assembled in unexpected ways.
