Description/Reviews:
A musician that loves to travel, a good deal of Hackett's music in recent years has been inspired by the various places he's visited and the sights he's seen. Under A Mediterranean Sky is no exception and as the title alludes, it's a musical cruise around the Med, with portraits and impressions of the picturesque lands and waters enclosed by Southern Europe, North Africa and South-West Asia. Musically, the album is a showcase for Hackett's clean and fluid acoustic guitar playing, supported by longtime collaborator Roger King's symphonic soundscapes.

Nels Cline (Banyan, Quartet Music) - acoustic guitar, slide guitar, twelve string guitar

Description/Reviews:
Undoubtedly a highlight, “All Hands” is a progressive folk-rock piece filled with fabulous slide guitar and epic acoustic power chords. Can you imagine Metallica playing a sort of mystical acoustic concert? There you are! Then, you can add the to-die-for vocalizations by Shyu, properly backed by saxophone, and to finalize, a neo-folk dissertation by Cline, who genially brings a dash of flamenco into play.

Stijn Denys: guitar
Jana Arns: transverse flute
Pierre Chevalier: piano
Joris Vanvinckenroye: contrabass

Description/Reviews:
At first sight Aranis doesn't have much in common with this cult band of the nineties, but if you look further you'll find a link! The musical spirit of the time in which the musicians of Aranis grew up and in which they live now is one of the most important underlying motives of their music. The theme of the original songs: anger, madness, boredom, depression,..., are brought together in a new and challenging programm. Aranis wouldn't be Aranis if this recognizable material wouldn't lead it's very own life. The result is confrontational and astonishing!  Do not expect covers, nor mellow classical arrangements, but expect a totally new interpretation and performance of Nirvana by Aranis! A musical adventure that makes one long for more!

A Kew's Tag "Silence Of The Sirens"

Country: Germany
Genre(s): Acoustic Progressive Rock
Label: Magic Mile Music
Format: CD, digital
Release date: October 2, 2015
Tracklist:
1. Heading For The Horizon (3:40)
2. Wilted Flowers Smell (6:07)

5. Amentia (15:40)
6. Statues Falling (3:10)

Total Time 58:02

Line-up:
Julian Helms - lead vocals
Johannes Weik - guitar, vocals
Alexander Mayer - bass
Florian Weik - drums

Description/Reviews:
The acoustic guitar always dominates the sound of what the band is calling Acoustic Progressive Rock. In the tradition of progressive rock there are no songs as such, more 8 pieces forming A kew's tag's second studio album - Silence of the Sirens. Enclosed by the trilogy Heading for the Horizon's End to Start Again is an hour of uncompromised rock whilst withholding its rhythmic complexity (Statues Falling); a piece which could almost be your classical radio song were it not for the instrumental breaks (My Cage); an epic musical battle between peace and delusion (A Poisoned Mind); and a piece that suddenly explodes out of nothing (Wilted Flowers Smell). The 15 minute piece of music Amentia in the middle of the album announces the arrival of the album title Silence of the Sirens. Progressive rock with acoustic guitar, accompanied and completed by melancholic, narrative lyrics. With the second studio album A kew's tag says goodbye once and for all to standard chart music, taking you on a deeper journey which can only be fully understood at the end.

Anthony Phillips (ex-Genesis) - voice as The Narrator
Giulia Nuti - violin and viola

Description/Reviews:
Ellesmere is the brainchild of Roberto Vitelli, bass & guitar player from Italian prog band Taproban. As opposite to the bombastic sound of the band, with Ellesmere Vitelli focuses on an acoustic and yet symphonic approach, delivering a stunning 40 minutes suite much in the style of early Genesis and Anthony Phillips works (ref. The Geese and the Ghost).
As the title suggests, every section of the suite is dedicated to one of the ancient French castles that reside along the Loire river. Several acoustic, classical and 12 strings arpeggiato guitar layers are topped with beautiful strings and flute melodies and an original vintage Mellotron provides further orchestration.

The Gentle Storm double album is an epic production of Ayreon proportions, divided into two parts as a full-on metal assault (CD1) and lighter folk arrangements (CD2). It also heralds Anneke's return to the realms of heavy guitars and soaring vocals reminiscent of The Gathering's breakthrough album, Mandylion.

Description/Reviews:
In coexistence with the cause and meaning behind this album, I can't forget to mention that "Blessed You're Still" provides almost an hour of excellent, acoustic rock. From the progressive sound of "I Carve Away," to the instrumentals "The Voice" and "The Voiceless," and to the jamtastic title track "Blessed You're Still," this album provides a variety of genre-hopping sounds. The mood shifts from anger to somber as the acoustic guitars strum away. For being an "acoustic" album, there are many moments of pure rock and roll. The band is not afraid to show some grit, especially throughout the song "Filthy."
