Description/Reviews
Wiltz are a Math Pop band from Wicklow, Ireland and Sea Dog is their final release.
With dashes of twinkly emo and post rock, Wiltz bring their brand of quriky love-able math pop music to the masses on this final LP, Sea Dog. Sea Dog is full of infectious grooves and melodies that intricately flow into some of the nicest tunes to come out of Ireland in years. It's a true swan song, and one Wiltz would like to share with you.
For fans of artists such as Enemies, Toe and And So I Watch Your From Afar.

Description/Reviews
Intriguing and very sophisticated album by Komulainen who adds a lot of ambient and classical textures to his brand of dark melodic metal. Definitely for fans of Opeth and Wintersun as well as more straightforward prog metal like Symphony X and Angra. Strange eerie vocals add a nice dark element to Komulainen's sound. Exciting and very unique. (Prog Metal Zone)

Description/Reviews
The songs on “Colours In The Dark” do not shy away from taking a risk and surprising musical turns, introducing new sounds and new musical atmospheres. Still, they maintain a heaviness that will surely bring a big smile to the hardest of rockers.
With its grand orchestra and choir arrangements, Tarja’s next milestone emphasises once again the impressive vocal range of the Finnish artist and shows her artistic growth.

Description/Reviews
Magna Vice’s music is firmly and definitively rooted in the 70′s and 80′s. If someone had told me that this was a re-release of an obscure rock album from 1982, I would have believed it.
Everything about the band’s sound harks back to those days, and for lovers of classic rock and metal, there is a lot to love here too. For a start, the vocals have a wonderful, dramatic warble, the like of which you just don’t hear it nowadays; to my ears it sounds like a mixture of Geddy Lee and Robert Plant, but not quite as high pitched. There are also some lush, multi-layered vocal harmonies which evoke memories of other 70′s and 80′s bands, such as Uriah Heep to name just one.
The rest of the music is a melting pot from those times too; Magna Vice really mix up classic, balls-to-the-wall rock with some nifty, slightly bonkers progressive rock, like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath meeting Yes and King Crimson in an alley for a fight. There are swathes of keyboards, which add majesty and pomp to the musical proceedings, plus also helping to root the music in that classic period. There are some fantastic swirly sci-fi keyboard effects used in the more epic songs (of which there are many), which also brings Hawkwind fleetingly to mind.

Description/Reviews
There are both a lot of Renaissance and Fairport Convention over this music. Ditto for some nods towards Pink Floyd and The Beatles too. That gives this album a very heart warming sound which goes deep into the listener's hearts and then stays around for a long time. This music is indeed pastoral music and the roots of it can also be found in the first Genesis albums.
So far, so good. This is useless if the songs are not up to it. Well, here this album dishes up a great surprise. The music is not good. It is excellent. Truly excellent in fact.

Description/Reviews
Nautilus’ music is described by the band as progressive jam fusion, something that’s more than appropriate. Their sound is amalgam of many things, and while they could be described to friends in quick explanation as jam band, they are really much more. Incorporating funk and rock aesthetics their sound evokes an airy, spacey feel that recalls smoky jazz material done with laid back construction.

Description/Reviews
If there’s any truth to a title, it fits with AutorYno’s Cosmopolitan Traffic (Tzadik). The traffic in this case involves the different styles of music played, a mixture of hard rock, heavy metal, jazz, and funk, with hints of Klezmer. The guitar work of David Konopnick and Gary Lugas stand out amazingly, along with Bertrand Delorme’s bass work, and together they sound like music I would love to listen to on a regular, if not daily basis. “Krakow” begins up an upbeat funk feel before it splits into something metalesque, but the guitar melody may reveal something culturally significant. Some of it is aligned with what Vernon Reid had done before and after Living Colour, where the guitars are free take off into solos of power while maintaining a level of structure. The rhythm section of Delorme and drummer Cyril Grimaud also maintains a solid basis, whether it’s in the Pat Metheny-esque airiness of “Irene And Sandy” to the piercing guitar work of “Warsaw” that may bring to some memories of Allan Holdsworth and his axe work. Description/Reviews
...if Andrew Lloyd Webber had a rebellious son who wrote heavy metal, he would write “Turisas2013.” The orchestration on the record is so thick, the arrangement so deep and so well-thought out, that even more than their previous records, “Turisas2013” feels like a theatre performance.
There is no particular concept to this album, no grand telling of history like we’ve witnessed in past Turisas records. Rather, the album is concerned much with the bittersweet themes of endings leading to new beginnings. At least half the album deals with subject matter along these lines; songs of longing and leaving and legacy. In proper balance, the album shares the other half of material with other themes common to Turisas; universally recognizable concepts like carousing, brotherhood and naturally, drinking. The album’s thematic balance is top notch, coming equipped with an emotional versatility somewhat endemic to folk metal but rare in other forms.

Brian Harris – keyboards (10)

Description/Reviews
Even if acoustic guitar albums can be perceived by some as one-dimensional, Relics from the Wasteland proves this common misconception quite wrong, displaying as many layers of complexity and as wide a range of influences as any “real” prog album.  In fact, the presence of Luis Nasser’s acoustic bass adds a depth that compensates for the lack of a conventional rock rhythm section, and the riveting interplay between the three guitars possesses a natural elegance all too often disguised by an electric instrumentation.

Description/Reviews
After the deconditioning and deprogramming blast of electronic noise which is ‘InWords,’ the album opens properly with the call to arms, ‘In Your Room’ – a skyscraper razing slab of Mudhoney strength mantra metal, which bids you abandon all doubt and fear so you can start your quest into inner space. For tuned in, turned on heads there is ‘The Internal Monologue’, an ecstatic shivering sliver of celestial acidic drone followed by the post-Hawkwind, post Loop transmission of ‘So You Are… So You’ll Be’. There is more computerised deprogramming via ‘OutWords’ before White Hills command that you cower before the altar of the Stoogian proto-riff, the holy Ur-riff, the mind warping, silver machine-tooled hyper riff, that is ‘Forever In Space (Enlightened)’. But after this cataclysmic shock, there is barely time to process what just happened before you are lowered into the howling lysergic swamp rock of ‘Rare Upon The Earth’ with only the echoing synthesized landscape of ‘Circulating’ offering some respite. The album builds effortlessly to the sumptuous ‘MIST (Winter)’ which features a John Carpenter synth line engine inserted into glistening La Dusseldorf chassis, forming some kind of god-like chariot.  Read the full review by John Doran at thrilljockey.com
