Two years after Epysode released their debut called “Obsessions” the band comes up now with a new concept album called “Fantasmagoria”. Epysode plays very powerful progressive metal which you can compare with partly Kamelot, Dream Theater and Symphony X...The opener is a kind of intro. It is a duet which is just supported by only the piano. The song is called “File – 4180” and it sets the scene for the rest of the album. Most of the songs are kept in a midtempo like e.g. the highly melodic “Venom” which has a great bridge and chorus. There is also the pretty dark “T.H.O.R.N.S.” which is another duet. With “Garden of exile” the album also has a good ballad and the epic title track shows all the experienced of the involved musicians. But there are also the very heavy and powerful songs on the record. “The black parade” is one of them. Pounding guitars and heavy riffs are in focus in this track. (mwiemetalblog.over-blog.com)
