Description/Reviews
After the Floydian/Porcupinish first part of the album, the musicians offer us a large pallette of musical styles. Three melodic songs separate a number of  intense tracks offering alternative rock (do I hear some Simple Minds?), metal prog (...hints of Tool), jazz fusion and even a little bit of blues rock. They do all this while always keeping some prog elements in their music and a mood link between the songs.

Although Celtic influenced and comprised of a number of re-workings of Irish folk tunes and Breton aires, the album is still in large part new and original Echo Us music that fits right in the Echo Us ‘canon’. “Wake” is a natural progression from  “A Priori Memoriae”, which was released to critical acclaim in Europe in 2014.

Description/Reviews
'Jonathan's Dive' is a 100-minute concept record based on Richard Bach's novel 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull', the famous fable about the seagull who is banned by his peers for wanting to make ying an art form. A symbol of the universal desire for unlimited freedom. In 1974 the book was made into a motion picture, famously adorned with a soundtrack by Neil Diamond,
but with 'Jonathan's Dive', Dutch band Edgar's Hair (ex-I$I$, ex-Oak members) transforms the story into a much darker and more erratic epic.
An analog musical adventure full of ethnic acoustic instruments and introduced by a multi-colored voice palette in multiple languages.
An exploration into an inner bleakness and a "higher plane of existence" which turns to the most magical aural trip.

Description/Reviews
“Proem”s beautiful intro gently kicks things off, eventually unveiling the song’s  melodic, funky and rather soothing personality. There is no shortage of groove from the get-go; strong, down tuned bass lines proving to be an extremely fulfilling sound along with an airy, atmospheric vibe that is not to be missed. A brief, moment of silence before the track breaks into another cheeky musical jive of sorts, setting the tone for the rest of the album. Now, the beautiful thing about this three-piece? It’s all bASS! Drums too of course.

Description/Reviews
«Messages from Afar» is a special concept album, that`s divided into 2 chapters – 1st by Karfagen and 2nd by Sunchild (part 2 to follow in 2018).
It`s band's hommage to the Art Rock as we know it from the heart of  the 20th  century. The main difference between the 2 albums as usual Karfagen is primarily instrumental work whilst Sunchild is song oriented.

Description/Reviews
Now here’s a strange and interesting story. Imagine forming your band in 1973, naming yourself after a Pete Sinfield song from his Still album. Imagine working on your first album for forty-three years. Imagine playing and writing for nine years, then sleeping for two dozen. And imagine recording the songs you’ve been writing for all these years over a number of sessions scattered across eight years and five different locales. Clearly, time moves at a different speed for German progressive rockers Sea Goat. Can an album, the songs for which began to be conceived back in 1975, be in any way relevant in 2017? I don’t know, but when I get a promo for a band named after “The Song of the Sea Goat,” and half the band are wearing King Crimson t-shirts in the promo photos, and citing Gentle Giant amongst other bands as influences, I’m going to grab it and cross my fingers.

Dustin Behm - guitar, E-Bow, bass, keys, programming

Description/Reviews
The Beyond is a darkly progressive voyage through strange paranormal worlds. The album begins with some very technical and dissonant sounding songs. Each track builds on the journey as the songs evolve through the course of the album. The album strikes a balance between melody and oddity and contains some innovative ideas, even for a progressive metal album. The Beyond is characterized by extended range guitar, bass, and synths paired with monstrous drumming in a heavy progressive context. Dustin uses an E-Bow (Electronic Bow) to solo on a couple tracks for a unique harmonic guitar sound. The Beyond is inspired by early 90's progressive death metal such as Spheres era Pestilence combined with a modern metal influence from Meshuggah. Chris Poland's Return to Metalopolis was also an influence. The album is heavy, progressive, dissonant, and showcases some very fast guitar playing.
The album is inspired by Dustin's love of classic horror movies, especially European horror of the 70's and 80's. The album artwork, skillfully painted by Mark Cooper, represents figures from a series of nightmares Dustin had as a child (of which Mark was unaware when he painted the piece).

Description/Reviews
Ken at the Laser's Edge says: "...One thing for certain is the band is clearly in love with the sounds of the 70s. They cite early Deep Purple and Pink Floyd as influences. You can clearly hear Pink Floyd sounds. Deep Purple a bit but you'll also hear Iron Butterfly and a bunch of late 60s, early 70s organ driven bands. Plenty of wicked guitarwork as well. Canterbury sounds are here as well. Overall it shoots for a certain vibe, basically British proto-prog and hits the mark. You could easily be fooled into thinking this is an album released in 1971. It's a hell of a lot of fun."
"Very excellent keyboard trio retro-prog from Sweden. [---] This is psychedelic infused progressive rock that channels the heritage of 1970-era Pink Floyd mixed with the Hammond work of Jon Lord with early Deep Purple; they are aiming for and hitting the UK 1970/71 'proto-prog sound - a pretty good place to be!" - Wayside

Description/Reviews
LEF’s music serves as the companion soundtrack for a breathtaking online interactive graphic novel based on dystopian tale written by LEF himself. While LEF’s visionary project might recall similarly ambitious dystopian tales like The Who’s Tommy or Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Hypersomniac has a wholly fresh spin on the multi-media process.

Description/Reviews
The first half of the album takes an unrelenting, math-heavy stance. Infectious hooks and shredding guitars abound. Little warning is given as songs take repeated, rapid-fire changes in direction, but somehow these twists and turns never feel too abrupt. Many of the songs on this album have something of the old school about them, Russian Circles meets hardcore band Hopesfall. There’s also room – on funk-heavy, ‘Illusory’ for instance – for some fun.

Arilyn from Ludwigshafen present their sixth album titled "Eraser". Cleverly, they connect hard rock guitars with electronic elements and thus achieve a sound that is familiar from bands like Archive. They continue to be loyal to their typical signature, refrains with a high recognition value.

Description/Reviews
The complete 1972-1974 Lucifer Was line-up that recorded Underground And Beyond and the year 2000 second album In Anadi’s Bower, is all featured throughout the album. Look out for the two-drummer kick on several numbers.
Morning Star contains seven tracks. Two of these, Tube Music and Sunday Morning Griever, are based on songs from Thore Engen’s 70’s tape-find in a box in his basement in 2015, which sort of got this album initially started. Another track, Sea Of Sleep, the only ever song co-written by Thore Engen and flautist/singer Dag Stenseng, were, in a simpler form, featured regularly in the band’s live-set during the early 70’s. And then there is the 15:25 long Heavy Prog/Space blues mammoth composition Pure, a year in the writing and arranging by Jon Ruder and Thore Engen.

Description/Reviews
Musically, they remind me a bit of a mix of Steven Wilson and Roger Waters. The Waters comparison comes from the overall message in the album “Power” and lead vocalist Steven Rogers, who’s delivery is a LOT like Waters.... The music for the most part is mid-tempo progressive pop rock with mostly solid hooks which is fine but gets a little repetitive after a while.
