Pomegranate Tiger are a Canadian progressive metal band with a very unique name. With their debut album Entities they have carved a similarly unique place in a genre currently dominated by djent, a scene some time accused of being saturated and full of clones that, despite being in a supposed sub-genre of progressive metal, lack progressiveness. Speculation and controversy aside, there is no doubt in my mind that this album represents an already very mature band with their own sound. A sound which, for starters, lacks the modern musical clichés of progressive metal and djent in particular.
