Description/Reviews
This is a guitar driven effort to be sure. ... It’s an experience that could easily be placed under the umbrella of Progressive music but it also draws from metal, rock, fusion, and more as Stefan flexes his creative side through this instrumental medium. With that being said, the sound could easily be recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Plini, and the like.

Hanna Ekström - Violin, Viola
Anna Dager - Cello

Description/Reviews
...this is actually an exercise in delicate beauty and a highly mellow listening experience. From the neo-classical opening bars of strings and woodwind on opener ‘The Fall’ it is quickly established that this is going to be a gentle and even quite pastoral journey. Julia’s vocals are far from over the top and accompany the music in a calming fashion that gives it all a bit of a fairy-tale icing. Don’t worry too much about musical overdose of sugary sweetness either, everything strikes as natural and Julia’s tones are what I can only describe as elfin and soothing whether she is softly singing or as in a couple of these tracks seductively whispering.

Description/Reviews
The record consists of four lengthy tracks, each displaying a different aspect of the Kungens Män sound. Opening track ‘Fyrkantig Böjelse’ is very much rooted in krautrock with a classic motorik beat and insistent bassline underpinning eleven minutes of guitar explorations that build from wispy flurries of eastern influenced notes and harmonics into a meatier space rock workout with dense guitar interplay consisting of clouds of high flying notes and squalls of intense pedal powered riffing.

Adam Gates - voices (8.1)

Description/Reviews
Amethyst Realm is a progressive rock epic clocking in at nearly eight minutes. Lennon’s guitar playing really shines on this one. It’s a good song but not the best on the album. Toady Man’s Hour is a ripper. It’s mad as a hatter. It bumps along propelled by bass and amusing melodies and lyrics about “a toady little man”. Cricket Chronicles Revisited takes up the tale of the prescription drug addicted cricket from the first album. Musically it’s much different, filled with Eastern strings and rhythms. Like Fleas ends the album in an aptly groovy style. It’s thematically appropriate too as it sees Mother Earth taking revenge on humanity. For all we’ve done to her, she’ll shake us off “like fleas on the back of a dog”

Description/Reviews
Musically, the band has quite the unique sound, as they lean heavily towards the prog end of the spectrum, emphasizing longer tracks with very complex arrangements, and there’s a ton of extended softer passages, dominated by keyboards. There are certainly times where the music reminds me a bit of classic Dream Theater, and for a prog/power metal album, the music is often very soft and subdued, with a strong focus on ambient keys. When the music does get heavier, there are also times where the keys have a very retro sound to them, and overall the music has a very late 80’s/early 90’s feel to it, to the point where I could easily see some folks who haven’t been told otherwise, possibly thinking it could be a lost album from that period. I don’t consider that a knock against the album, though, as it does feel intentional, and if anything it helps give the music a distinct feel, that feels quite different from most modern albums in the genre. While keyboards dominate, there is some great guitar work to be found here, with the expected excellent solos, which are equal parts technically proficient, melodic and very emotional at times, as well as some heavy riffs, which tend to come in quick bursts.

Description/Reviews
The album is also chock full of various moods. "Mother's Rhymes" starts with a somewhat folksy, pastoral mood reminiscent of his first couple of albums, before it quickly moves into the mind-filling drama that we have come to know and love. Track 2, "Farewell", is somewhat somber and brings to mind Gentle Giant's "Think of Me With Kindness". Track 5, "Blind Mice", was previously released as a single. It is all instrumental and heavily classically influenced. Track 6, "Simple Simon", begins with a brooding delivery. Track 8, "Rewrite the Rhymes", is fast-paced, up-beat, and happy. It ends with the lyrics "When the bow breaks, the cradle won't fall, and safe will be baby, cradle and all." -- an obvious rewrite of the original nursery rhyme. All tracks run seamlessly together, with a continuous, uninterrupted flow.

Description/Reviews
The new album "Eorþe" have a wonderful mix of fuzz, stoner, psychedelia, progressive rock and all in the native language "Swedish". Even if the basics in SKRAECKOEDLANs music comes from the past it sounds modern and fresh, with well-thought monstrous riffs and an amazing groove. If some references should be made I could say it's a mix between SOLID GROUND and KENT.
