Description/Reviews:
Depths of Distrust is a concept album that explores the perspective of an individual who is content with disliking and distrusting mankind and social institutions. This ‘misanthrophile’ instead attempts to find meaning in extreme individualism and in the inability to comprehend and conform to social norms. Unlike most people, who conceal their own problems with others and society, the misanthrophile openly embraces the taboo of misanthropy.Media/Samples
Misanthrophile’s music is best described as ‘progressive metal’, ‘hard rock’ and ‘avant-garde metal’. The guitars and rhythms are intense, dark and heavy as much as they are mellow and melodic. Far from simply ‘laying down a beat’, the drums take on a more musical role as they drive sophisticated instrumentation and vocal harmonies through epic arrangements. Extended, mind-blowing jams and insane time changes abound.
