Description/Reviews:
The electro-acoustic Gatto Marte ensemble presents this vibrant new release, featuring a previously unheard live symphonic sound. The 20-minute title track, a suite for violin, piano, synthesiser and double bass, is sub-divided into six episodes, and is a fusion of progressive-rock-inspired, reflective chamber pieces with a rich electronic arrangement. This album will take you on a journey from the Mediterranean, through Eastern Europe, and ultimately heads even further afield to explore unfamiliar musical geographies. The violin, piano, accordion, double bass, guitar and percussion are the protagonists of this musical journey, and the music is as descriptive as it is imaginative: often recollecting little stories, which can be comical or dramatic, but always tend to have a gentle touch of irony about them.
