Description/Reviews
The Many Faces of Pink Floyd is a wonderful and truly stunning album: A labor of love which is rarely seen on today’s market. The first disc of the triple album contains The Dark Side Of The Moon covered in full by luminaries of the global rock scene (members of King Crimson, Yes, The Doors, Toto and Asia, among others). On the second disc, the ten fundamental songs of The Wall, two of Wish You Were Here and two classics from the psychedelic era by musicians such as Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Ian Anderson or those British freaks British Psychic TV, among many others. The third disc, meanwhile, is even more spectacular as it presents material from all the great musicians who participated in the group's records: saxophonist Dick Parry (Money, Us And Them), singer Clare Torry (The Great Gig in The Sky), guitarist Snowy White (the tours of Animals and Roger Waters solo), producer Norman Smith (The Piper At The Gates of Dawn) and keyboardist Peter Wood (the tour of The Wall) and there are even songs by the obscure bluesmen who inspired the leader Syd Barrett to christen the band: Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

     With
Martin Griffiths (Beggars Opera): vocals (3,4,5,6,7)

Review/Description:
After their successful adaptation of WilliamShakespeare’s The Tempest on their lastalbum Island Noises, Poor Genetic Material spent two years to developanother literature-inspired project whichalso gave them the opportunity to realize aplan they had been brewing for quite awhile: that of bringing together PhilGriffiths and his dad, Martin (of Beggars Opera fame), as lead singers on onealbum. On A Day in June, Martin shares the vocals with Phil on three songs, and each ofthem has two lead tracks. James Joyce’snovel Ulysses, on which the new album isbased, provides an ideal frame of referencefor this collabo-ration in that it both tells offather-son-relationships and opens up awide array of themes and motifs to playaround with. Apart from the resultinglyrics, which are refreshingly different fromthe run-of-the-mill fare of much of today’srock music, the album features what overthe years has matured into the band’sdistinctive musical style. Excellent playingcombined with inventive songwriting wentinto creating tracks that range from thedelicately melodious to the more noisilyprogressive, from accessible tunes toquirkily complex arrangements. But whatmakes the album truly unique is indeed thesinging: Martin is back with a voice that isas powerful and captivating as ever andPhil leaves us amazed at what he can pullout of his bag of musical tricks. The waythe two voices at times resemble eachother and then cover entirely differentpoints of the vocal spectrum makes for arare treat. All in all, A Day in June shows Poor Genetic Material at the heightof their creative powers

Description/Reviews
"The third CD seems to vary from the previous two. This time together with twelve musicians we have created a new tone and sound for our music. What can you hear on the third album Light Coorporation? There are ten compositions, the string section where double bass were played by using violin bow and a strong brass section don't let you forget about them!
We hope that you will enjoy arrangements of sounds of dirty guitar and classical instruments combining strong accents of tenderness, anxiety and space.
As on previous albums, in that case we used only analog recording equipment, with the support of old microphones and vintage stuff from the 70's."

Description/Reviews
One of the surprising specificities about Radiation 10 is its orchestral attributes, compiling punch and flexibility of a small band with sound wealth of a massive orchestra. Its uncommon instrumentation evolves between all-electric and acoustics. Radiation 10 claims a music with no leader and no border, mixing jazz, progressive rock, chamber music, industrial, with huge tendence to improvising. The multiplicity of instrumental combinations allows a free and inventive musical purpose.

Description/Reviews
Debut full length album by Giobia, the new psychedelic sensation from Milano, Italy! Giobia celebrate a intense neo-psychedelic-rock, who is deeply inspired by the sound of the late sixties and shoegaze. Next to Guitars, Bass, Drums and Organ they use Sitars, vintage Keyboards and Effects to create a colourful and swirling sound. Their vocals are often in the background to produce a more far out athmosphere. They play tight and punchy as well as relaxed and floating in higher spheres. All that filled with love and passion for their music.

ALMS is a musical project created by the Spanish composer and multi-instrumentalist Aitor Lucena. “Beyond”, his debut album, is a musical and very personal adaptation of the “journey” after death, and revolves around the three mythological characters Hypnos, Thanatos and Caronte (Charon). Pure Symphonic Prog-Rock, in which you’ll appreciate influences from ELP to Mike Oldfield, from Classical Music to Heavy Metal, and also a strong influence from Italian Progressive Rock bands such as Il Balletto Di Bronzo, Le Orme or Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso. Doubtlessly, it will astonish classic Prog-Rock lovers.

Over the past year or so, a wide array of instrumental bands have come across the Lady Obscure desk, ranging from the predictable to the bizarre, and filling every nitch in between. The latest offering falls under the “holy shit can that guy play” category. Mahogany Head Grenade is said offering, and Dan Hyer is that guy. Don’t get me wrong now, he has some solid men in Mike Pritchett on Drums and James Falcon on Bass playing with him, and they most definitely are a core part of the music, but the guitar is the frontman here.

Description/Reviews
The music of Sadly Temporary defies genre classification, but is deeply rooted in progressive rock with slight hints of bluegrass, metal, classical, and jazz-fusion thrown in here and there. Some influences like Mr. Bungle, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, Danny Elfman and Gong will be immediately identifiable, while others like The Carpenters, and Jeff Buckley are more subtle. The music tends to be complex, but this is not the focus of the songwriting. Rather Sadly Temporary is concerned with interesting melodies and harmonies based on pop/rock sensibilities with surprising interludes intended to catch the listener off guard. The Lyrics of their first CD tend to be light hearted, comical social/political commentary largely using dairy products as metaphors for the human race's on-going struggle for power

Description/Reviews
The Eldritch Dark is a full-length paean to the darker corners of folklore and legend. Containing eight tracks of black magic rock ‘n’ roll, the album crackles with the excitement of a nocturnal ritual.
Tales of witch-cult gatherings in wooded glens, pacts made in torch-lit abbeys and Victorian magic are accompanied by vintage-style hard rock riffs, snaking bass lines and stirring flute melodies. The Eldritch Dark also sees the band exploring a more folksier side of their sound; most evident in the hymn-like “Lord Summerisle” and the murderous folk-rock epic, “Ballad of the Weird Sisters”. Nineteenth century sorcerer, Oliver Haddo, makes a return appearance in the riff-hypnotic album closer, “The Magician”.

Description/Reviews
The Last Tribe is a "take no prisoners" progressive rock steamroller. From the opening chords, guitarist Nelson Coelho gives clear evidence that the band is ready to tread over new ground -- and fully prepared to take it by force!Dialeto's long-awaited international debut shatters the power trio template: visiting styles and textures that could have been just as 'at home' forty years ago as they are today, while remaining undeniably contemporary and accessible. Quirky, unpredictable and overflowing with power and energy, the trio rips through an original set of barn-burners that defy categorization, but are fresh, compelling and masterfully delivered. The band is as tight as it is explosive -- never allowing the listener to get comfortable in one spot for too long, before catapulting them into their next frenzied foray. They deliver the sonic goods in an enthralling, cohesive package. Coelho's grandiose guitar work is always firmly at the forefront: the music guided confidently by a seasoned player possessed of intrinsic melodic sensibilities, but unafraid to follow those senses along paths previously untread. His tones are monstrous; his playing is flawless, instinctive and full of passion and fire. The Last Tribe conjures images of what some of progressive rock's most vaunted acts might have achieved, had they been as daring and self-assured. Moments of sheer creative brilliance abound on this fantastic outing, Dialeto's first offering for MoonJune Records. This is a scorching effort that will win over fans with its rare combination of power, grace, ambition and spontaneity, and showcases the brilliant Nelson Coelho as one of progressive music's most vital new voices on guitar.

Description/Reviews
Both albums, Human -The Tales, and Human -The Facts are complex and elaborated albums, based on profound and far reaching concepts, almost like a rebel and nonconformist response to mp3 disposable music that in these days rains over us, and I have to say, both albums are so solid that when you listen them from beginning to end the similarity with an audiobook, rare and innovative, is more than imminent.
Human – The Tales is, to its fullest extent, the worthy continuation to what has been already shown in Abscence. A faithful, glorious progressive sound doesn’t seem to be enough since between lines we can also read the many and varied influences of the instrumentalists, ranging from the always obvious Dream Theater, to Cosmosquad, Tribal Tech, Rush, Black Sabbath, Tool and Pink Floyd. Progressive rock with a continuous metal edge, surrounded by an aura of classical music and a “latino” scent, evanescent but noticeable. The album is so solid that I would not comment on any particular song, 70’s prog rock influences are immediately visible, but the music is impregnated with a very modern and contemporary sound, with that smell of newness that can hook you in two seconds but it takes hours to fully understand. The virtuosity of each musician is undeniable, but the music is not structured according to it, but rather dominated by melodies and arrangements that emerge immediately from the artist’s soul; dark riffs, guitar and keyboard solos are still hot because they’ve been ripped out straight from the musicians’ hearts.

Human – The Facts is a conceptual work, newer and much more risky, a little more symphonic too, especially because of the enveloping and atmospheric keyboards, and because that in addition to Santiago’s vocals, which naturally are emotive, there are also Damian Wilson and Dario Schmunck showing their talent. The work is detailed, complex, almost surreal, with a story that begins like all stories: with a woman. Framed by cryptic letters, condensed characters with their own personalities, all surrounded by the same progressive symphonic rock, theatrical ala Andrew Lloyd Weber, with neoclassical touches, always off bounds close to operatic singing style, sometimes desperate, sometimes sweet, but always emotional forming harmonies and a rare and disturbing hybrid of ecclesiastical chants and battle cries. Stands out Void, which begins with an a capella whisper and goes in crescendo to end in chaos and guitar power. The Play, a beautiful piano ballad sprinkled with breathtaking vocal harmonies, Vater, peeking out even more Dario Schmunck’s vocal intensity in an explosion of dramatic power, and of course, the ever majestic interpretation of Mr. Wilson on Quirk Of Fate.

Description/Reviews
This is an isolated apocalyptic story about the last hours of humanity more than a sequel to the previous two albums. With a slight change of crew and a transformation in composition, it is darker and harder than its predecessors.
With members from Carptree, Krux, Candlemass, Soilwork, Opeth, and Evergrey this is one more step foreward for Symphonic Sci fi Metal.

Description/Reviews
Now we arrive to their sixth studio record, the futuristic titled "Systematrix"- and the quintet appear to straddle the lines of maintaining their progressive metal style while venturing into elements of the modern scene in the hopes of appealing to the broadest market possible.  Stylistically, "Systematrix" appears to be more understated in its progressive elements, using a veritable color palate of softer dynamics and subtler time signature shifts to get the listener to engage in more of a cerebral manner.
Mischa's melodies are equally provocative, entwining all facets of beauty, energy, and anger a la classic Geoff Tate in songs like the guitar/keyboard harmony laced "Tin Cans Liberty" and bouncy "Walldancer". "Madhouse" features some opening keyboard soloing from Richie Seibel that is more in line with 70's acts like UFO or Toto than most neo-classically oriented players, while the three part closer "The Symbiotic Predator" goes all over the map musically and features some of the heavier, engaging interplay moments between all five that showcase their obvious training and experience within the genre. As a bonus for those who purchase the Digipak, you'll receive two exclusives including an updated version of "Symbols of Time"- originally appearing back in 1995 as the title cut from their second album (lasercd.com).
