Description/Reviews:
"Silverfade" bounces from style to style, never staying put in a single sound, which allows the record to not become one long, dingy slog, which is a problem that permeates a lot of alternative rock.  "Yesterdays Tomorrow" opens the record, unexpectedly, with a piano figure, and when the guitars do come in, they are not the thick and low slurry you would expect.  They are still fuzzy, but they sit in the mix with a sharper bite, and they flick out washes of chords to give heft to the composition, which is clearly not written solely for the guitar to dominate.

Description/Reviews:
Eighteen years in the making, Mandala's debut album Midnight Twilight is an exhilarating combination of Western and Eastern folk music, mixed with heavier forms of progressive rock, and smothered in an early-1970s production glow.
Mandala was formed in London in 1997, but after playing hundreds of concerts across Europe and North America, they disbanded in 2006 without recording an album.
Reunited in 2014, the band finally recorded its debut album (featuring songs written between 1997 - 2005).

Description/Reviews:
Graal has warped into the past. Their sound is this retro-fitted classic hard rock that sounds somewhere between 1978 and 1983, complete with touch of keyboards sounding like a Hammond. It's what some might characterize as proto-metal, but it's being played in the 21st century. I'm also sure there's more than a few people who will read this and only see "retro' and think old. But they would be wrong.
In the wrong hands, Chapter IV would probably sound old to some. But Graal has a keen sense of the roots of classic hard rock and metal. Whether it's the fundamental groove of the rhythm section, the swirl of keyboards, an abundance of clean but stinging guitar, or smooth melodies and vocal harmonies, the band works the elements like craftsman. This music may not captivate the idiot youngster trying to keep his pants up. But those who have a sense of history will get this music.

Description/Reviews:
"Hard rock" and "Underground", eh? Not descriptions you'll have seen for a while I'm sure. Back in the day, before journos splintered metal and prog into far too many daft sub-genres, there were essentially three types of rock music: Heavy Metal (led by Black Sabbath) Hard Rock (led by Deep Purple), and Underground (what became Prog Rock). This American band sounds like a modern amalgam of those three tropes, making their music sound ancient and up-to-date at the same time. Get the patchouli out! Description/Reviews:
Groove Think is an innovative, progressive rock trio based in Austin, TX that fuses elements of funk, jazz, and groove. The album is based upon a semi-totalitarian, futuristic world in which information has been made available through a device called "The Intellect." After implanted into the arm, the device allows humans to upload, download, and store information directly. The album pivots around 2 individuals: the creator and a user. Through their eyes, emotions, and experiences, the album plays through technological driven themes of dependency, isolation, cognizance, liberation, and other motifs. The music itself is our most exploratory yet--aggressive, abrasive, technical, and moody. We hope it embodies what most think of when a progressive concept album comes to mind.

With both male and female vocals, guitars, synths, mellotron, woodwinds and everything else you would or would not expect, the band combines the mood of the ‘70s with a modern take on the genre. Gentle Knife's self-titled conceptual debut album takes you from the clamor of the big city, into an alluring forest. The journey is supposed to renew your energy, but somewhere deep in the forest, you are drawn away from the path, and into the unknown...
