Description/Reviews:
"Hard rock" and "Underground", eh? Not descriptions you'll have seen for a while I'm sure. Back in the day, before journos splintered metal and prog into far too many daft sub-genres, there were essentially three types of rock music: Heavy Metal (led by Black Sabbath) Hard Rock (led by Deep Purple), and Underground (what became Prog Rock). This American band sounds like a modern amalgam of those three tropes, making their music sound ancient and up-to-date at the same time. Get the patchouli out!
