Description/Reviews
...Night Verses embrace the heavier sides of progressive and post-metal to form their sound. The atmospheric nature of post-rock is an ever-present element, but there are more times than not where the record reflects a technically minded progressive metal band like Animals as Leaders. There are even times where the band wades into territory that’s a tad more sludge-y/murky in the low-end, ala post-metal veterans Pelican. Regardless of which end of the metal spectrum Night Verses dip their wick, the results are enthralling and impressive.

2. Horror Vacui (18:50)

Total Time 79:57

Line-up
Luke Jennings - Guitar, Vocals
Niall Kingdom - Bass
Joe Milburn - Drums

Description/Reviews
Laid back and dreamy seems to be the initial vibe here but Deltanaut don't want their listeners to getting too comfortable and so into the mix they throw elements of stoner raunch, bluesy bluster and metallic crunch and it is this blend of  hard rocking grit and lysergic gentleness that makes this song and the other four songs on "Part 1" such an enthralling and satisfying listen.

Description/Reviews
A number of the tracks appear to have started life as free improvisations and even with studio refinement, there is still an exciting spontaneous air to much of what is on offer. This gives the album an enjoyable unconstrained ambiance where expression and experimentation are important ingredients.
The albums bulbous saxophone tones, electronica, low-end guitar and wailing human voice create a cacophonous experience, for a listener to consume, or subconsciously ingest, rather than to enjoy. This is an album where the experience of its contents is much more important than any whistle while you work tunes.

... a six member outfit that make music that is, shall we say, somewhat unique; part Art Rock, part Progressive Rock and part dance hall show tunes. ...World on Fire presents itself very well within the Progressive Rock tent and I think will hold plenty of appeal to fans who enjoy the lyrical story-telling side of the genre, songs that are supported by some very clever arty instrumental performance.

Description/Reviews
Blending influences of 70's classic FM album rock (Stones, Kraftwerk, Steely Dan, Supertramp) with a melodic prog flavor, The Man From RavCon's ninth release, “Another World,” may be considered a somewhat more accessible work than his most recent offerings, but is no less adventurous in scope. With contributions from special guests, guitarist Larry Smith, and flutist Jeff Eacho, “Another World” features a more lighthearted, breezy vibe making it the perfect soundtrack for Summer 2018 and beyond.

Description/Reviews
Reality Is My Play Thing is an exhilarating blend of the intricate-yet-accessible west coast rock of Frank Zappa or Steely Dan together with a distinctly British off-kilter eccentricity (XTC, Gentle Giant, Cardiacs) married to the sweeping cinematic grandeur of Steven Wilson or even John Barry. The 11 year gestation has yielded an epic project - the core double album (expanded to a triple album for the special edition!) has two distinct halves - one disc is vocal and the second mostly instrumental. Maintaining a balance between accessibility and at times intense instrumental complexity, the entire set has a deeply cohesive feel that rewards deeper listening.

Description/Reviews
Having a harder and at times darker feel to its 2006 predecessor `Fortune Telling`, `The Spotlight Effect` has the different aspects of the human condition as its overriding theme. It focuses on the media-driven world we find ourselves in today, where every move we make is analysed then picked to pieces. There`s nothing sacred anymore; all things are considered fair game for an `entertain-me` hungry audience.

Description/Reviews
...“Deep Ocean” starts things off with a fanfare of muscular guitar and cymbals crashing like waves on the rocky coast, carving out the beach and unearthing a primal groove with growling bass and jittering spectral figures. “The Sound of the Earth I” brings to mind David Sylvian’s post-Japan near ambient instrumental excursions where space and pause became as integral to the “composition as place” as his trusty Prophet 5. Once this world is created, and with a decidedly Beckian vibe (Jeff, that is), Dusan wrings from the neck of his guitar, some of the most emotive broken phrases and edited soulful voicings.
