The band ... have quite a 70s/80s rock sound and features a fairly eclectic mix of styles. Musically, Fleetburner is a mix of Progressive and Melodic Death Metal, while sometimes there is a clear present of Black, Thrash, Doom and even some Post Metal elements. The opening “The Land” sounds quite silent and melancholic, without presaging any Death Metal brutality that will crush the listener in “The Breakwater”. “The Deck”, in its turn starts slowly and sounds more like Doom, while in the middle of the song the band increases the tempo and the music turns into Swedish Melodic Death. Sonically, it’s all over the place. WARD XVI have thrown elements of doom, prog and even fairground music into the mix, but this chaotic approach works in their favour. They’re hard to pin down but have a similar vibe to the recent OCEANS OF SLUMBER record. They’re more theatrical and have less death metal up their sleeves, but they possess a similar skill in making rooms feel smaller and shadows longer. They’re also happy to take their time and let things unfold gradually. Continuing the fungal theme from the previous release title, «Mycelium Days» sees Yobrepus venture into a more progressive territory than before. The album starts with a 22-minute long medley that pays homage to legendary songs like Echoes and Lark's Tongues in Aspic. Get ready for long instrumental parts with mellotrons! However, it would be wrong to describe the music as retro. On the contrary, this is text-book post-progressive, and much more coherent than their previous effort. Sure, there’s still that vibe of indie rock, and the odd touch of 90s trip-hop, but where we would previously draw comparisons to the Beatles, Radiohead or Sparklehorse – we now hear the influence of acts like Tool, King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree.Media/Samples
Aveya is a guitarist and composer who integrates film scoring and progressive metal to create dramatic instrumental music. Having studied counterpoint and classical theory, Aveya adopted those classical writing approaches to create progressive metal compositions; allowing for continuity between instruments resulting in melodic soundscapes and dramatic climaxes. Her debut album, “The Earth Still Breathes” explores the forgotten stories of the earth.

OBSIDIAN KINGDOM is devoted to exploring the boundaries of Rock music. The Barcelonan band defies classification to this very day, drawing equally on progressive rock, post-metal, alternative and electronic music. However hard to pigeonhole, it remains consistent with delivering exciting content that never fails to surprise the audience.
‘Meat Machine’ is a frantic attempt at self-discovery, through a head-first plunge into the anxiety derived from sexual frustration, the absurd of reality and the inherent cruelty of a mechanized world. It is an emotional roller-coaster featuring an abrasive and overwhelming sound that draws equally from noise and art rock, post metal and late 90s alternative music.
Of interest to many will be the appearance of most of BBT in some form or another and whilst the music is far more folky than rock, there is still enough punch to bring this into the progressive rock realm, especially on the longer tracks like the epic France and Whisper, both of which are intriguing compositions.Read the full review by John Wenlock-Smith at progradar.org

On His fourteenth solo album, Eloy Fritsch recorded twelve new songs, including the suite "High Places", formed by four parts in an instrumental fusion style. "Moment in Paradise" is a different album from the previous ones, very diverse and with a variety of modern ideas and harmonies from Jazz. The song “Moment in Paradise” was composed in a symphonic style and seeks to recreate the cover image that illustrates the album, which represents the composer as a child sailing in his boat on a keyboard path that leads to a place of dreams and fantasies. The album also features the composition “Silver Dream”, a tribute to keyboardist Keith Emerson of the English group EL&P, who passed away in 2016, one of the main influences of Eloy Fritsch. Fritsch comments: “This album is very different from the previous Journey to the Future released in 2019. Instead of being melodic and electronic-based on synthesizers, the new album is rock and fusion, with a greater variety of solos and improvisations in the songs. In most compositions, in addition to drums and bass, I use piano sounds and other classic keyboards like the Clavinet, Rhodes Fender, Hammond organ, and Minimoog ”.
