Description/Reviews
Free Human Zoo ... are a French ensemble whose music combines the elements of Jazz, Rock, Jazz-Rock, Pop, Prog, Folk, and so much more.
Their new album is entitled Freedom, Now! is a 4-track collection of songs that are both emotional and sensitive, whilst at the same time both void of grounding and chock full of immense free spirit.
The fun, upbeat "Borokoni" is up first, and wow, they immediately grab you, wanting you up on your feet. I mean, if the chords had arms they would be swinging you in jazz / prog moves around the room! The more precise, thoughtful "Amour moteur, Matrice" is next and showcases exactly what this highly talented ensemble can do.
"Aspettando la Primavera" turns the heat down somewhat, and ebbs and flows in a most beautiful, delicate even style. The last track is "Maniacus", a cut that seems to follow the traits of how improvisational jam sessions come to be. With dynamic peaks and troughs throughout, it's yet another highlight of this incredible album from Free Human Zoo. (annecarlini.com)
