Description/Reviews
“Endless Nights” is the first album containing Michele’s original compositions since the end of the experience Locanda delle Fate in the early ’80s. It took a very long time to complete this album but, on the other hand, its author had all the time and freedom necessary to take care of everything in detail, especially the choice of his collaborators and the recording studios.
“Endless Nights” reflects the sudden changes of the last 40-50 years, and its six tracks are the result of the encounter between the sensitivity and the elegance of an artist who personally experienced the golden age of prog-rock and the modernity and immediacy of rock and modern music productions; a record that is therefore born of a strong contrast, and consequently surprisingly balanced and thoughtful.

Francesco Lovari - vocals
Alessandro Palmisano - guitars
   With
Laura Meade (Izz) - vocals (6)

Description/Reviews
Cellar Noise have almost completely abandoned the strong '70s reminiscences of their previous work by turning their sight to the present and exploring the modern sound of current productions, leading us towards heavy-prog territories ("Leeches") several times, leaving space to melancholic and dreamy atmospheres ("Her") and even indulging in some pop incursions ("Nautilus"): all these elements come together harmoniously in the 12 minutes of the manifesto-song "Omega".

Line-up
Erik Hammarström (Brighteye Brison, Änglagård, All Traps on Earth) - Drums, Cymbals and Percussion, Electric Bass, Samples

Description/Reviews
... an extremely intricate and dynamic rhythmic texture, the result of years of study, evolution and practice of the musical instrument, combined with chamber music scores that make Erik's work seem much easier than it actually is. Jazz-rock, avant-garde and classical music merge here in a sonic brew that, for attitude and originality, recalls the most courageous experiments released by the ECM label. A modern symphony, constantly vibrant and tense, which could perfectly fit also as a soundtrack for a film with a 'Hitchcockian' flavor.
The album consists of two long suites, both divided into different movements: a 34-minute title-track, and the shortest 15-minute "Iskallt Mörkt Vatten", in which Erik plays all the percussion and electric bass, accompanied by bows, brass, clarinet, flute, celesta, harp and bassoon. An incredible and uneasy experience even for the most daring 'prog connoisseurs', destined to leave a mark!

Line-up
Paolo Carelli - Vocals
Maurizio Pancotti - Piano, Organ
Rinaldo Linati - Bass
Tobias Winter - Guitars
Csaba Papp - Drums

Description/Reviews
The album, divided into two parts – one that bears the album title and consists of a long suite, and a second entitled “Ognuno da lande diverse” (each one from a different land), consisting of seven shorter compositions – presents itself in a beautiful way, thanks to the marvellous artwork made by artist Tiziano Crisanti.
In the words of the musicians themselves, “Hieros Gamos” is the attempt to conjugate (wedding) the past with the present, the old and new generations, the different styles, the dead spirits and those still incarnate into living people, in the awareness that nothing can pulsate without this union of profound empathy (sacred). The title-track is a 22-minute suite composed by pianist Maurizio Pancotti that once again sees Paolo Carelli and his iconic reciting voice: here, the references to the original absent musicians are the starting point for revitalizing musical and non-musical messages, that Pholas Dactylus (more intended as an energetic force than a group of people) does not want to disperse.
“Ognuno da lande diverse” is instead a collection of short individual compositions, signed by the three original musicians that are still operative today (Maurizio Pancotti, Paolo Carelli, Rinaldo Linati) who, since the dissolution of the group in 1973 until the present day, have followed completely different and isolated paths, without any professional or private contact: an attempt to show how dissimilar and heterogeneous itineraries contain sparks that can eventually bring to unexpected conjunctions.

John Macaluso
Maurizio Pariotti (DGM)
Alessandro Tomei
   With
Mario Schiliro

Description/Reviews
"In Rock" marks another rebirth for Raccomandata, that finally returns with brand new unreleased material after almost a decade. The B-side of this release contains a cover of the famous "Mr. Crowley" by Ozzy Osbourne and the songs "Raoul" and "La spiaggia", taken from the full-length version of "Il Pittore Volante" but that never appeared on vinyl before. However, the main dish is on side one: a dark-tinged heavy-prog suite divided into three acts, with an epic and engaging central part and an enthralling finale; there's an extensive use of wind instruments - saxophone above all - and classical ones - piano, string instruments - but, once again, Luciano Regoli's voice stands out intact, with its unique timbre still unharmed by the pass of time

Description/Reviews
Overall, ELLESMERE II sounds way more energetic and varied compared to the previous work, that was dominated by flute and acoustic guitars. Listening to the whole album, it's not difficult to find similarities with the great prog acts of the past: Yes immediately does spring to mind, but also King Crimson during the rawest parts (a quote from RED is hidden in the second track), UK challenging jazz prog, the symphonic attitude of ELP, Kansas tension towards melody, the breathtaking chord changing sequences typical of Magellan and Cairo, the intimate and gloomy mood from early Peter Gabriel productions. The brief instrumental section that opens the album is the evocative trait d'union between the last track of the previous work, still hazy and filled with the sounds of nature, and this new journey into the waters. The tale then keeps moving, built on three long and powerful tracks inspired by the strength of the savage sea (Marine Extravaganza, The Schooner and Time, Life Again). Yet Marine evolves in a mini suite, tied to the opening track (Tidal Breath) and to Marine Coda, that showcases all the elements that are part of the concept. Two more complex tunes, The Schooner and Time, Life Again are tempered by an apparently quieter song (Runaway) and by a symphonic shorter instrumental track (Ridge Fanfare).

Description/Reviews
A multifaceted 19-track album with a preeminent side made of classical-symphonic music and keyboard improvisations; however, the real prog-rock element hasn’t been forgotten on tracks such as "Tripudio", "Romantik Metal" and "Frammenti Perduti". The album also features tributes to the classical composer Johann Sebastian Bach and to Lucio Battisti, the latter honored with "Il mio canto libero".
The long time spent between "Goodbye" and the previous chapter is mainly a consequence of events that occurred inside Angelo’s family environment, and it is precisely to his closest relatives that Angelo Santo Lombardi has dedicated this work of his. "Goodbye" is therefore a deeply felt album, long awaited by those who appreciated Gan Eden’s efforts years ago, and now finally released by AMS Records.

Diego Petrini: drums, piano, synth, mellotron
Federico Caprai: bass
Simone Brozzetti: electric guitar
Eva Morelli: flute, alto & soprano sax, piccolo

Description/Reviews
Contrary to what often happens in the vast progressive rock panorama, crowded by many prolific artists, Il Bacio della Medusa has always taken their right time to release a new album: this time six years have in fact passed from the previous “Deus Lo Vult”. Nothing to complain, however, when the wait is rewarded by the high quality of the result.
“Seme*” is no exception in this sense and, if the wind instrumensts played by Eva Morelli and Simone Cecchini’s voice represent elements of continuity with the past, everything else has been completely revolutionized. We are in fact facing the band’s most immediate and at the same time more varied record, a blend of hard, folk, jazz and classic rock, typical songwriter’s moments and even country and electronic music!
If it’s true that ‘prog’ means also evolution and mixing between musical genres, we are therefore in the presence of a daring album that, even if considerably deviating from the ‘classic prog’ coordinates, paradoxically represent the most progressive and original release in the entire career of the group.

Description/Reviews
Born as a tribute band of Genesis, Pink Floyd and Supertramp, the Ligurian Nathan debuted on AMS Records with “Nebulosa” in 2016, a surprising album, the result of a real revolution within the band that led them to compose only original songs. But the group’s inspiration has not been confined to the debut record, and “Era” is here to fully demonstrate that, a further step forward in comparison to the previous work.
To the initial revolution, now an evolution follows; noteworthy improvements can in fact be highlighted on several aspects: songwriting, consistency and clarity of sound, production (always taken care by keyboardist Piergiorgio Abba) for a release that, starting from a base of symphonic progressive rock flows into a solid modern and personal heavy-prog.

Description/Reviews
“Dalla vita autentica” is a complex but never boring record of modern and Mediterranean progressive rock, mostly made of contrasts between mellow orchestral parts with piano and strings, and other more rushing and ‘rock’ ones, in which in particular Alessandro Corvaglia’s expressive voice is the absolute protagonist. The long title-track at the end is a perfect example of this, over 16 minutes of sound explorations that perfectly seal a beautiful album.

Description/Reviews
"The Archinauts" is a visionary out-of-the-schemes work, of a whimsical and dreamlike nature. In addition, the album is in the form of a 'concept' that also embraces poetry, photography and architecture; everything is taken care of in any detail, and trailers, video clips, artwork, and photographs accompanying the music are meant to tell it in every of its aspects.
From the musical point of view, Isproject's debut has a strong symphonic propensity, with numerous instrumental sections, rich of piano scores, keyboards, and beautiful mellow and inspired electric guitar solos. It is difficult to find out a structure in the tracks, which are a series of different atmospheres linked to each other in an absolutely natural and fluid way.
The fresh and original nature of the opera and the duo's enthusiasm soon captured Fabio Zuffanti's attention, who was reached in Genoa at the Zerodieci Studio, where Isproject were helped by the Z-Band musicians during the recording process. All has been coordinated by Zuffanti as an artistic director for an outstanding result that emphasizes the influences of the individual personalities of the artists who took part in it.

Description/Reviews
The album, divided into five long tracks, is as usual characterized by the dark atmospheres that we already encountered in the band’s first two records; the sound and the production are far more modern than the past ones, but echoes of the ’70s progressive rock music are still very present, as they’ve always been a trademark for the group. “Frammenti notturni” is not a concept album in the true sense of the word, but its lyrics have some common themes, such as the urban setting and the obstacles that interferes with communication among humans.

Description/Reviews
"Deelay" is a transversal album, complex, layered, full of unexpected stylistic changes, collectively written by the trio and born of improvisations that have subsequently been structured into songs; entirely instrumental, based on the contrast that comes from the succession of different atmospheres and dynamics, "Deelay" sees very different genres such as progressive rock, fusion, ambient music and post-rock blend harmoniously. Odd times, polymetrics, and a lot of research on the sounds of individual music instruments create an album that is technically complex and perfectly enjoyable at the same time, where emotion and feeling prevail over the technique itself. The grooves and interweaving of the various individual instruments effects result in a kaleidoscope that shows the incredible potential of this group and casts a solid foundation for any unpredictable future evolution.
