It is impossible to ignore the exceptional abilities of young Juan Salvador on the drums, His skill has caught the attention of many viewers. Even Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason shared a video of the band playing ‘Another Brick in the Wall‘, which catapulted him into international recognition.

Along with a mix of straight-forward piano-and-organ-based songs, 'The Rising' includes tracks that feature electronic sonic landscapes reflective of Vangelis with Sade-like rhythms. In its usual eclectic manner, Offramp provides a palette of sounds and music for the listener to enjoy either through dreamy escape or moving down the road of life with a panorama of visuals to witness.

Yaroslav Egorov - Drums
   With
Marjana Semkina (Iamthemorning) - Vocals (4)

Description/Reviews
Displaying conceptual and progressive elements, Monodrama is a singular work, more visceral and compelling than usual post rock albums. With somewhat “aggressive”, outstanding and audacious harmonies, unlike many other albums in the genre, there is literally no room for monotony here. Echoes and Signals’ melodies are captivatingly vibrating, dynamic, inclusive, interactive and incisive. One of the most fascinating post rock albums that I have heard, their style is simply fantastic, extraordinary and unbelievable. A genuine and formidable work, that really introduces a marvelous level of artistic grace and poetic innovations into the genre.

Description/Reviews
A young Italian Progressive jazz-rock band finds its inspiration in the object of the same name: since a Möbius strip geometrically connects the two sides of the same surface by starting a path on one of them, this also became the purpose of the musicians to combine different styles and influences. Here are five long tracks full of freshness and inventivity, completed by the short composition "Call It A Day".

Description/Reviews
The album will be a typical, classical, progressive, melodic concept album inspired by the wonderful book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery  - "The Little Prince" You will not hear on this album crazy fast tracks, complicated broken time signatures and progmetal guitar riffs. You'll hear the melodious vocals, vocalizations and guitar solos, keyboards and orchestral movie atmosphere. This music should appeal to fans of artists like Camel, The Alan Parsons Project, Pink Floyd and Marillion.

Description/Reviews
Inside “One of Us” there is their original sound of the 70’s, with some new tracks, perfectly matching with the style of the band. Among these tracks there is an homage to Greg Lake - a cover of the classic “Lucky Man”, here in an “extended” version with new parts, a new structure, arranged and produced by Beppe Crovella and Franco Frassinetti.  The CD begins with “Vintage Worms”, the opening of the original track “Vermi”, recorded in the 1972, as a reminder of their own roots. In the sound of “Struttura & Forma” is clear the presence of 70’s’ free outside the box creative research, with a strong fresh personality of who wants to bring on his creative dimension to our days. Description/Reviews
As with most progressive records Abject Tomorrow is no different in the sense that it is a concept album. The story is based in a dystopian future in which all humans are required to have emotion inhibiting implants implanted from birth. One man’s implant fails and it chronicles his journey of discovery and reconnection with his humanity. Musically, it draws from a huge range of influences; from classic prog acts that influenced Keane growing up, such as Yes, Genesis, ELP and Rush to metal acts such as Death, Meshuggah and Megadeth.

Description/Reviews
The Night Siren showcases Steve's incredible guitar playing as strongly as ever, along with regular Hackett collaborators and also musicians from several different countries who Steve invited to join him in celebrating multicultural diversity and unity. This includes singers from Israel and Palestine, who both actively campaign to bring Jewish and Arabic people together. There are also instrumentals from the USA and Iraq and a multiplicity of sounds, including the exotic strains of Indian sitar and Middle Eastern tar and oud, the ethnic beauty of the Peruvian charango and the haunting Celtic Uilleann pipes.

Description/Reviews
With echoes of Mike Oldfield’s melodicism, Crimsonesque complexities, churning bass that wouldn’t be out of place in classic-era Yes and even languid Floyd-like soloing, the link to a progressive rock vocabulary is unmistakable.
Incorporating several different moods and personas during its intricately orchestrated duration, FACE is designed as a harmonic palindrome, looking both forward and backward. Ending as it begins with the ambient sound of an outdoors field recording, the listener is taken on a dramatic expedition in structure, rhythm, melody and harmony and then returned to the point of their departure.
Consisting of 385 bars of music, FACE is variously filled with tumbling percussives;radiant vocal harmonies; words intoned as if in some secret ritual; shimmering fuzzed guitars; waspish flights of stinging brass darting across fusillades of thunderous drums; surging keyboards whose lines ripple in spirals and mesh like gears into the rhythm tracks.
In the same way that an optical illusion challenges our perception, there are times when what appeared initially as intimate acoustic spaces suddenly empties out into arena-sized ambience, altering our impression of melody and aural space. Playful, exotic and diverse, it’s a piece that despite its relative brevity is as ambitious as it is capacious.

Pallbearer "Heartless"

Country: USA
Genre(s): Progressive Doom Rock/Metal

2. Thorns (5:24)
3. Lie Of Survival (8:25)
4. Dancing In Madness (11:47)
5. Cruel Road (7:13)
6. Heartless (8:09)
7. A Plea For Understanding (12:40)

Total time 59:59

Line-up
Joseph D. Rowland - Bass, Vocals, Synthesizers
Devin Holt - Guitars, Vocals
Brett Campbell - Guitars, Vocals, Synthesizers
Mark Lierly - Drums

Description/Reviews
Pallbearer’s third album, Heartless, is an inspired collection of monumental rock music. The band offers a complex sonic architecture that weaves together the spacious exploratory elements of classic prog, the raw anthemics of 90’s alt-rock, and stretches of black-lit proto-metal. From the gloriously complex, sky-lit opener “I Saw the End” to the earth-shaking (and heartbreaking) 13-minute closer “A Plea for Understanding,” the entire group puts forth the full realization of their vision: More than a doom band, Pallbearer is a rock group with a singular songwriting talent and emotional capacity. Heartless finds the group putting forth their strongest individual efforts to date: Campbell and Rowland, along with guitarist/vocalist Devin Holt and drummer Mark Lierly, turn in peak marathon performances. Both Campbell and Rowland also handle synthesizers alongside their normal duties, and there are plenty of gently strummed acoustic guitars amid the crunchy electric ones, adding a moody, ethereal spareness to the towering metal. The almost 12-minute “Dancing in Madness” opens with dark post-rock ambience and moves toward emotional blues before exploding into a sludgy psychedelic anthem. A number of the seven songs feature a humid rock swagger.

By fusing their widest musical palette to date, Pallbearer make the kind of heavy rock (the heavy moments are *heavy*) that will appeal to diehards, but could also find the group crossing over into newer territories and fanbases. After having helped revitalize doom metal, it almost feels like they’ve gone and set their sights on rock and roll itself. Which doesn’t seem at all impossible on the back of a record like Heartless.

Stylistically, Moonloop are rooted in the old school Opethian prog metal with a more modern Gojira slant as well. Baulenas’s death vocals are possibly more brutal sounding that Mikael at his peak.

Vladimir Kulak - piano (3)

Description/Reviews
First track ''Nakipello'', an instrumental, puts us pretty much in the Prog Metal genre with Dream Theater being the main influence. I must admit that the DT reference is reductionist even for that first piece, because Kulak's music takes its inspiration from a great number of sources, and not exclusively from Metal. The second track ''BearRumba'', another instrumental, continues the heavy moods but with more of a Porcupine Tree feel to it (circa ''Anesthetize'').
