Description/Reviews
The focus of Obsidion shifts more to atmosphere, story and lingering within their lush cosmic instrumental pocket. It is an album that may not be as instantly rewarding as Red Giant with its dramatic inclusion of some post-rock and metal elements. That said, the grooves and melodies, while often not as heavy, are every bit as catchy and enthralling. The layered depth of sound may be slower to appreciate initially but becomes much more gratifying over repeat listens.

Description/Reviews
Barrows fuses atmospheric and heavy music in the form of sprawling concept albums. The band creates entrancing, circling riffs and rhythms intercut with explosive peaks and brilliant subtleties. Red Giant, the sophomore album by L.A. instrumental rock band, is fittingly massive in thematic scope as it is in sonic heft. A concept album about the life of a star and what happens after it dies, the band depicts the stages of celestial death throughout the album’s five epic tracks.
