Description/Reviews
On ‘Street Lights Fail’ Nucleus Torn even goes one more step further in its desire for experiment, dissonance and challenge. Three long compositions offer us forty minutes of music that is anything but accessible, but they flabbergast and impress you from the very outset. This is different. This is estranging. This moves you. According to the creator it is also anti-nostalgic and a perfect remedy against the boredom you feel when listening to predictable music. Indeed, this is not predictable, although there are enough familiar elements to recognize the idiosyncratic Nucleus Torn style, such as fragmentary transitions from classical music to heavy riffs (metal), from introvert sadness to frenzy and fury, plus be led away by the music or feeling the bitter pill of rejection.
