Description/Reviews
From Chile comes another long time great progressive band that has announced this will be their last recording as a band... The music on this CD is exotic, varietal, jazzy, vibrant, intelligent, and powerful... I love the equal spoonfuls of avant garde, jazz fusion, ethnic, native, and rock that they stir the pot with... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and I dream of this band deciding to get back together.

Description/Reviews
Their songs show influences from seventies Italian Rock progressive sound (PFM, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Biglietto per l'Inferno, Osanna) and more recent progressive metal/symphonic sonority (Symphony X, Dream Theater, Angra).
Emisferi Paralleli's project is also linked to the progressive rock experience by the research that they are carrying-out in order to join together different arts: music, painting and literature as universal ways of human expression. Rock and art are melted together in their first concept album in which the five musicians paint, through notes and rhytm, emotions and sensation inspired by the famous paint "Garden delights" of the Flemish painter Hieronymus Bosch (dated 1503-1504). Their musical and visual trip will drive you within the different sections of this fabulous paint.

Hailing from Switzerland, W.O.F. which is short for World Of Freedom, is the brainchild of Olivier Guenat... Musically W.O.F. mix a lot of styles; from classical music to progressive rock and from French chansons to pop music, but always with the emphasis on the guitar ...  Some parts are heavy and bombastic with a gothic edge; others are much lighter and more concentrated on the guitar and some are classical...

Dennis Burgemeester - Bass,

Description/Reviews
First conceived by classical violinist Laura ten Voorde when straight-up classical music was not doing it for her, Adeia melds elements of classical music with progressive metal. You have got to love a band that sandwiches Opeth in between Rachmaninoff and Simon & Garfunkel in their influences list.
A line from their own bio says it best: “They created a sound comprised of classical melodies, progressive rock elements and a nice dose of heavy grunts, growls and guitars.” The first few minutes of “Cordyceps” had me wondering how this album had made its way to me; it was all violin and piano and clean, light vocals. Then at about 2:14 everything changed. Suddenly the guitars started getting heavier and the vocals were much more rock-oriented. Ok, now we were getting somewhere. By 3:23 the vocals went harsh and I became very interested.
It seriously sounds like they took some classical music, some Pink Floyd and some Opeth and threw it in a blender. I suppose given the current state of Opeth this does not sound like an unusual thing, but these are three very distinct sounds that are all cohabitating in the same space at the same time, as opposed to evolving over a span of years like the Opeth sound. Mixing all these elements is not a new concept in metal music, but somehow Adeia manage to make it seem unique. (George Washburn at metaldisciple.com)

Fuerza is the second album by this quintet of notable musicians who perform music influenced by Gentle Giant, Focus, PFM and King Crimson, with addition of elements from such genres as tango, folklore and even hip-hop. This boldness makes Fuerza a work worth of paying attention to, in which meticulous work arrangements and instrumental combination of keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and flute gets powerful and lyrical moments.

Description/Reviews
The band name gives more than one hint that the band is influenced by Rush. Not by the album of the same name, though. We are talking progressive hard rock and that Rush anno their two first albums. The Spanish & far better vocals than Geddy Lee's vocals kind of mask the similarities. The rest of the band is very tight and powerful. 2112 consists of bass, guitars and drums. No synths. Just a lot of clever use of power in the songs. The guitar riffs is very clever though and in the Alex Lifeson vein. This and the drums most of all brings Rush into the picture. The sound too is great.
